SSCS6000 never aired in the UK. Where the Apple Lies never aired in the UK. These episodes aren't being "censored" because of complaints from parents or anything, they're being localised for a different audience and the decision to do so would solely fall on Hasbro; especially since this isn't something exclusive to the UK. The amount of retards crying "censorship" is fucking incredible. It really isn't a big deal at all.

I don't think the problem is the lack of action made by the british people, just look at the overwhelming amount of people who voted to leave the EU earlier this year.
It's safe to say most of if not all those people were proud british nationals like myself who were saying no to the years of shit the EU put us through.
I think the main problem is our action is too peaceful, we never do anything more than yelling and marching with signs, there's no real riots or attempts to topple government.
And whenever tens of thousands of people gather together to protest, the media doesn't cover it.

Our countries full of immigrants who don't care about our culture or our rights, and it's ruining our chances of freeing ourselves.
>>

>>
>>29110759
>Still calling it censorship
Get your head out of your arse and realise what it is, it's localisation. It's not to appease an audience that didn't like it because these episodes never aired in the UK; no one would've complained about it. This is on the level of changing 90% of Japanese food into "burgers" for anime. Would you call that "censorship" or maybe realise that it just makes sense to replace what people are saying, because 90% of the audience won't get what's being said or will misinterpret it.

I'm not Canadian, but thanks for proving my point. I wouldn't mind if you actually gave a shit about censorship but it's clear you don't; you just give a shit when it matters to you. Don't pretend your on this anti-censorship crusade as if all forms of censorship are inherently bad. Especially when in the case of 'cider' it's replacement rather than removal; where one word was replaced with a synonym of that word rather than removed entirely. Literally you're bitching about one word being replaced with another word that means the exact same thing; which in terms of censorship is nothing. This doesn't actually change the meaning of the word for the original audience because apple cider and apple juice mean the same thing in America.

This isn't anything like, say... The censorship of a political idea or way or thinking, where some countries didn't air The Cutie Map. You don't hear outrage about that because it didn't happen in America.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=juice%20bar

>Common name for a club or bar that cannot sell alcohol, due to local law or zoning regulations. Thus they sell juices, non-alcoholic sodas, and various concoctions.

>Often applied to strip clubs. In many American locations, a strip club can either can sell alcohol AND offer dancers covered in bikini-type outfits OR allow more risque attire, even naked, but with no alcohol.

Consequently in CA slang "juice" is semen because you jerk it in the bathroom after watching a full nude act.

Of course, he could always be pulling a McCarthy.

Over here, Apple cider is usually completely fresh, unfiltered, unpasturized, not from concentrate, and free of additional ingredients (added vitamins, sugar, etc.).

"Hard cider" is what we call the alcoholic kind.
>>
>>29113133
>Implying any child in the Western world doesn't know what alcohol is

It's not about knowing what alcohol is, it's about having them drink it, love it (viz. RD) live off of it and so on.
I live in Slavland so I've got no illusions about shielding kids from booze of any kind but it's not like this is somehow special or new and the /pol/trad response is really unwarranted.

Are you for real? Thanks to Brexit we're on our way to becoming an Orwellian state, since Theresa May will be able to act with the EU and their pesky human rights getting in the way.

Well I'm French and here cider is the alcohol you give to little children. (basically 1° to 3° of alcohol).

When they're a little older it's a glass of champagne at every celebration.

But again it's France, we're a little loose with children when it comes to alcohol.

Brexit was a power grab by the same nutbags who are currently proceeding to ban all porn in the UK.

They knew the EU would stop them if they tried to force their hyper-christian values into law, but now the EU can't.

A lot of the left wants to ban porn too, to protect women and children from... whatever. Even the BBC which is left leaning and vocally anti-brexit has has anti-porn stance for a while now.

It was the Labour party who introduced the "extreme porn" laws, not the Tories.

No, it's not alcoholic, don't be ridiculous. Only reason it'd look that way is because animators try to make it look more recognizable as cider and not something else. We've also seen the production process and there's clearly no alcohol involved whatsoever.

Only reason it gets censored is because many non US countries aren't really big on non-alcoholic cider. It's all alcoholic there, unlike the US, and so they might not understand that the cider in MLP is soft cider with no alcohol content. Or in other words, just apple juice but less processed pretty much.
>>
>>29111189
I still have no idea why the designers and animators gave them butts in the first place

Ez pz. The European Union grew out of the European Coal and Steel Community, as a federal political and economic union, with an additional optional monetary union under the euro. The political union takes the form of a bicameral legislature composed of the European Parliament and the European Council, and an executive body, the European Commission. Only the commission can directly propose legislation, and legislation is limited to barriers to trade and EU internal affairs, including immigration, tariffs, intellectual property laws, bailouts for the PIGS, etcetera. The sheer scope of trade policy may give the illusion that the EU has vast, far-reaching powers, but it's closest analogue is the failed US Articles of Confederation, with a bit of US federalism mixed in. For example, the overriding principle is that European law is supreme, and similar to the US, even the constitutions of member states can be overridden by EU federal legislation.
>>
>>29110396
god you guys are retarded. That's not censorship.
They didn't change it because "Alcohol is bad!" but because the american version had cider as a non alcoholic drink while most other places in the world cider is alcoholic, so since netflix is an international service they used the safer applejuice word to not potentially make people think they are talking about alcohol
>>
Wait, they dubbed over cider with apple juice everywhere, but forgot to change the description and title? And what the fuck do they call the machine?

Maybe not, I just figured if they were doing it for WTAL it would be lazy to not dub over it in all the episodes it gets mentioned in. I momentarily forgot which company runs this show, it's probably intact in SSCS6000.

It's not about muslims or other bullshit, just the difference of nomenclature in UK and North America. In original MLP apple cider is muddy apple juice, so to not make kids in UK think it's ok to drink alcohol when you're 8, they changed "cider" to "juice".

Islam forbids alcohol.

I wondered if the Muslims are why they censored it. It's only a suspicion, though.
>>
This is the really stupid part:

What the ponies were making is apple cider, non-alcoholic cider.

Granny Smith says it begins to go bad as soon as it's made. That is not the case for hard cider.

Non-alcoholic cider, like the cider in the show, is a seasonal drink. Alcoholic cider is not as it must be fermented.

And of course, the Flim Flam brother's contraption cannot ferment cider in five seconds.
>>
>>29117637
No. its just because alcohol in a kids show is a no-go
Its the same in the US, they just allow cider because in north america it isnt always alcholic when in the UK it is.
>>
>>29117678
That makes sense if they don't have non-alcoholic cider in the UK.

As an Amerifag I assumed it was non-alcoholic as soon as they mentioned it.
