Why does it seem like Equestria Girls is technologically behind our world?
>>29022722
Probably set in a different time period yet still recent. Like the late 90's early 00's
>>29022722
Cuz yer a fuckin retard lol
>>29022722
Probably cause some writers are late GenXers.
Fucking hell, some anime still use flip phones.
But what made you ask the question?
>>29022850
Because EQG is supposed to be our world, and magic is supposed to be some powerful amazing force, but I feel like magic is only as amazing as it is because the world is crippled technologically.
I tried to imagine holograms, virtual worlds, AI systems, robots, self-driving cars in EQG and they all seem to be out of place.
Is this not on par with modern technology?
>>29023094
That's Equestria level tech, there are no holograms there.

>Using shittiest character to start the thread
Rarity did have a smartphone
>>29022857
>Because EQG is supposed to be our world
No, it isn't.
>>29022857
Not at all. It's about as much our world as Equestria is. As a matter of fact the EG world is most likely an alternative Equestria.
>>29023149
But they seem eager to say it is basically our world, even the UK exists in their world if the MVs are anything to go by.

That was just music video t b h . Aside from the generic modern setting which can also be somewhat found in the show in places like manehatten we really have no clue of what the name of the country is or any concrete worldbuilding.
Plus on the actual show there have been direct references to real life countries and languages like France.

I always felt like they were trying to make the two worlds feel different with the technological gap between the two worlds, but now it seems like they are running away from that since that might take away from the magical element.
It seems like they are trying to make the two worlds more and more similar, Equestria is becoming more and more modern while the EQG world is becoming more and more whimsical.
