And I get that a lot of anons on the board already think the writers are lazy hacks right now, but I'm saying it would be even worse.

Also if they bump up the age rating they're presumably altering the target demographic as well. The show switching gears from trying to appeal to young girls and inexplicable grown men, to trying to appeal to girls transitioning puberty; there would be a very different feel to it.
