17'' Mac, OS X for work (software) and lurking and video games.
It happens that a lot of my favourite games were released for mac too (Baldur's Gate EE). And when they are not (Alice 2) then I have a HP PC laptop.

I escaped windows when Vista was released. I decided that since I already spent 10 years on windows XP and new windows systems were shit it is time to leave forever. Of course then windows 10 was released and it is good. Still I am happy on OS X, for me it is a Linux without it's common flaws and all advantages of windows system (games included).

Windows 7 professional, clean installation on an mSATA 120gb SSD, without all the crap software Asus put into the preinstalled OS.
I think It's really the best choice, at least for me. I tried both 8 and 10 on virtualbox, and found them absolutely awful for the 15 minutes I used them. The fact that people talk about updates that can't be disabled, botnets and the like further convinces me to never "upgrade". I'll stick with 7. I hope I'll continue to find W7 drivers for my next laptops.

Windows 7 mostly. I have Debian on the side but don't use it for much. Considered getting Win10, but the default look is dogshit, Cortana bar is gross and I'd have to figure out how to turn off the botnet. Upgrading isn't really worth it right now.

I don't have a waifu, but I get the feeling that Best Horse is more into the hardware aspect of things than software.

No it's not. No part of the OS is designed with XAML, all common controls. Only starting Windows 8 had parts of its environment designed with XAML, like the Settings app, but existing programs like Control Panel and Windows Explorer / File Explorer are left untouched.
