I just came back to /mlp/ since I left after season 4 ep 13, and honestly? its exactly the same. Its been over 2 years and im seeing even the same memes, the same sexy pony pics, the same episodes being discussed.

Did anyone here even watch season 5 and 6? because i have seen almost no spoilers since im back.

s5, slice of life easily. i love that the staff took a moment to have fun along with its audience. its a level of connection thats rarely seen in shows.
s6, a hearths warming tail. since theres always a new generation of kids (and in fact one in the 6 years since the show started airing) there will always need to be carol remakes, and this one did it fantastic for the time slot. the songs were all god-tier and the whole thing felt comfy.

Nah, that's stupid and ham-fisted. But they could have made it a power she calls on in times of dire trouble -- just one more weapon in the arsenal next to the Elements. Even now, the writers could contrive plenty of reasons for her to give up her wings and retire to a little tree-library much like the one she had. (Maybe the only way to stop some terrible threat is for the world's "lesser alicorns" to sacrifice their magic, or maybe Twilight just doesn't want to outlive her friends. She never wanted to be a princess anyway.)

There are solutions you could do at literally any point, sparked by any number of revelations, crises, and personal discoveries, so maybe don't go full-bore doom and gloom just yet.
