The toys are selling better and are of better quality than even EqG Minis, and those do really well. There's going to be an annual for them, and once there's the "major change" at IDW the comics are going to involve it more.

At this point it's probably in the early planning phase.

yeah that's right. Additionally I think if there was going to be a series something would have been announced by now. We first heard about the GoH trademark being filed in June 2015. Hasbro filed trademarks for Equestria Girls in December 2012 and in the months following there was news about a movie.
