I like her a lot and Glim + Trixie is probably the most fun thing to come out of s6.

The impression I get from this board (when it makes any sense at all) is that most don't hate her per se, they just preferred her as a socialist megalomaniac with bangs and got sick of her stealing the spotlight for so much of S6 in order to basically rehash Twilight's missteps from s1/s2 without the forgiveable naivete of Twilight's inexperience. She's OP and she gets away with still kind of being a sociopath.

I don't exactly disagree with any of this but I still like and identify with her. The manner of her reformation also highlights Twilight as an educator, which is an important theme in post-s3.

The only things I dislike about glimmer are the fact she felt a bit forced as a character, what with her terrible motivations and Vogel's shift into a writer role which to me was a massive red flag, along with me feeling that even though she had a fair amount of screentime this season they didn't actually do anything with her.

We could've had episodes focusing around her learning lessons from the Mane 6 based on things THEY had learned during their time in Ponyville, like AJ's "don't lie it's bad m'kay" episode being told to Glim instead of Applebloom, but instead we essentially got the same "I don't work well around other ponies because I'm a sociopath" a few times then she basically got over it in the finale.

Also there's her hair which still bothers me. Like I know it's not a MAJOR thing but the fact it keeps flipping sides between shots is very noticeable for some reason.

it's easy to hate glimmer (i don't, just don't care for her use), she's gohan in that weird post cell period, she's chibiusa in superS. she's the replacement( twilight 2.0 but with a tragic past, a redemption angle, even better at magic and even worse with others) injected into the series when they hit a wall, having turn twilight (my best pony) from the adorable neurotic nerd with a tree library to a plush toy castle princess that has to say FRIENDSHIP 30 times an episode for her whole 3-5 minutes of screen time.
