I absolutely adored season 5 because the crusaders, especially AB, are my favorite. I think that people who genuinely don't like it, more than not liking the crusaders, feel the way they do because they had stubborn ideas on lore (which were honestly mostly assumptions and headcanon) and felt like the big developments in cutie mark lore were retcon rather than quality development. And I noticed that people who disliked it completely missed the point of some episodes, despite a clearly spelled out moral. People thought Bloom and Gloom was about Apple Bloom rationally believing her friends and family would leave her after she got a mark out of nowhere, and being educated otherwise. People like that don't have heart for the characters or consider things from their perspective, and that's not a good way to watch this particular show focused on friendship and feelings.
