A lot of those images are actually pretty cringe worthy to me. You don't need years to be able to draw a landscape with no complicated perspective and the, "figure overlooking a cliff ebin concept art," maymay. Just learn basic composition from like master paintings or something (mostly boring repetitive movie stills though), get some popular environment guy's abr brush set with tree brushes and shit (maybe Jonas De Ro has some?), then learn to paint using the lasso tool. Lastly, look up how to photobash. Having a tablet does make things easier but it's not 100% required. This really hurts to type, but you'll be able to make stuff on par in a month if you do that.

I hate to memespout, but Loomis' books might help with the basics of that. Just remember that it's really a generalization of proportion to take note of and not a method of construction. I've seen many lost gainz in newfriends that thought as much. It has basic proportion charts that make things a little easier. The rest though, is just learned through figure study and not being an autist to know what certain body language can convey in a scene.

Clipping masks can be your friend in times like those in terms of coloring. Anatomy-wise, speed comes with skill. Just get used to spending as much time as you can to make something look right, and eventually you won't be hit by the same snags and finish in a fraction of the time.

Precious about my art is a good way of putting it. Most of my sketches and doodles fail in the early stages so whenever I manage to create something that works I give it everything I got to make it worthwhile. The signature is there for a different reason though. I absolutely loath finding art I like and having Google Reverse Images fail me because the artist is too secluded or something, so it's there to encourage others to do the same (+getting my name out there obviously). You're obviously going lineless and that's great, but there still are a few slipped in there and they are very out of place. Instead of using lines, try to use solid shading for where the lines would be, gradually becoming softer/blurrier as it spreads out into the light. Imagine the muzzle without it, then as it transitions to the cheek there's suddenly a solid line of shade, which gradually blurs off in the other direction. One thing some dude told me who did some nice shading, might’ve been ShinodaGE, was that while correct lightning is certainly important shading is about bringing out shape most of all. So start off using it to create and emphasize shape mainly, and then add how you feel the light would fall on top of that. Same with the ear.

On another note, the mane and tail looks kind of 2d. The texture is just too random and doesn't really make any sense. I imagine you'd have to do detailed brush strokes to get something good, though maybe just having less texture and more noticeable shade to give it shape (you'd need that regardless) could be enough. I rarely do see digital paintings where the hair is detailed down to the strands without looking really weird.

For one, the gesture feels stiff and awkward and the perspective is off. Like if someone is raising their arm, their shoulder would be higher than the other.

Second, check your values, they're very flat.

Third, they're flat because, while you have a mostly consistent light source, you don't really have a good grasp how light works. Since the floor is white, there would be a pretty strong bounce light coming from the floor.

Four, there are color contrasts in nature, you have very saturated shadows and the high saturated lights make the whole thing uncomfortable to look at. Toned down the saturation on things getting hit by light.

As a sketch there's not a whole wrong with it in my eyes. But one thing I can point out is how the hair looks overly hard and spiky. You can really tell there's an attempt to make it feel hairy and messy with extra spikes, but it's really not necessary except when you're really trying to make a point of the hair being outright disgustingly trashed.

So I'd remove those extra little spikes in the males mane that are disconnected to the rest, leaving only a line to cover the horn coming out of it. The mare has quite a long mane, so assuming she hasn't intentionally cut several parts of it at different lengths, it should form spikes only at the bottom where the mane actually ends. You can still make it less groomed and wild, but imo it looks a lot better if the length is kept consistent for the most part.

Going back to the male again the mane at his neck looks like it has several single spikes growing out with barely any connection to each other. If you could merge them into each other at the root some more I think it'd do good for his looks. Though you might have to lengthen it to make room for that.

After all that it's mostly down to how you do the strokes I think. You gotta draw each line with a kinda wavy feel to it, to make it feel more fluid and natural. You have done that a little here, but it can get a lot better still. It's especially noticeable at the front of the males mane. It feels very straight, hard and unnatural. Like a flat piece of paper angled to try and make it 3D, it's still missing volume.

I've found this to be a great program to doodle in on my Mac because SAI won't work there. The build-in stabilization software is downright perfect, even better than SAI in that regard so you'll have an absolute blast doing lineart. I'm sure everyone who's used SAI has noticed the little spikes that appear every time you lift your pen after a line. These are non-existent in Firealpaca so you won't be forced to waste time erasing these bits everywhere. It also has great performance on any hardware I've tried, unlike SAI which craps itself if you got too much going on at a high resolution or just big brushes in general, regardless of how powerful your PC is. It's simply too old to make use of modern hardware properly. Anyway Firealpaca doesn't have this problem.

Where Firealpaca falls short is the lack of additional features, specifically brush settings if we're comparing with SAI. SAI is also lacking in features if you compare it with software like Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint, but all of these costs money (including SAI, but nobody actually buys it. SAI is a pain in the ass to get a license for and the pirate version is so easy to install you literally don't, you just unpack the files)

You can make new brushes for Firelapaca though, but you need to import them as scripts or something, nothing I know any more about. It also used to miss the feature of grouping layers together in folders so you could hide, remove or move several around at the same time, but it's been added somewhat recently.

Firealpaca and a sneaky copy of SAI is what I'd recommend. They're both very easy to get into and can get stuff to look good.

Let me clarify, it's too messy to the point where it's hard to tell if one thing is intentional or not. I could tell you to make a mouth that isn't shaped like whatever that is for example, but for all I know it's probably just a sketchy placeholder. Pretty much this. You need bigger eyes orbits, not bigger irises (not right now). Watch closely >.gif related. The size of the orbits remain the same all along, the size of the irises not. Start by fixing the global size of the eyes and making the muzzle shorter.
