Those "episodes" are being made instead of EqG 5 at least for the moment. Honestly they exist so they can make individual DVD/Blu-Ray releases so they can have 7 DVDs on a shelf to compete with Monster High instead of 4 or 5.

EQG Minis are very easy to pop limbs off and hard to stand since their heads are so big and heavy. I could understand the negative reviews, but they aren't complete shit. They are still very cute and don't look like they are made out of cheap plastic.
I haven't messed around with any Guardians of Harmony toys so I don't know how good they are.

EqG Minis having issues might be a problem of a style that works better on paper literally. GoH are really well made and can even rear up like a horse.

The Minis are pretty fragile. A little girl will easily break them. They're also hard to pose, but the new wave with Adagio bring little stands with them at least.

Don't know about the Guardians of Harmony toys, but the Friendship is Magic Collection toys have been great, especially the tree library (which no one apparently buys)

GoH toys are easy to pose and can stand without a stand. The accessories are a bit hard to clip on though. The stuff that is made of soft plastic is easy to put on though.

if it wasn't, they wouldn't be making 3 specials and have at least couple of waves of minis geared up
those minis are selling much better than the regular dolls
I've seen the minis go for as much as 40USD over their MSRP online when they first come out, they are a hot commodity

Honestly, I run an amazon business and could easily pull the sales per month figures for these ASINs, but I don't even think that will prove anything at this point. When the Q4 rush has settled and if we're still debating this, I'll post the numbers.
