Considering the ratio of adblock users on 4chan, I doubt that would work too well. The more obnoxious the ads become the more people delete 4chan from the whitelist.

If the problem actually does exist it is most likely due to people setting the refresh rate in their extensions to 1 second, preloading all images and gifs for every thread they open and so on.
