How does a show designed by a feminist and with more female characters than male still manage to characterize male characters better than most shows designed for men?
>fucking butt monkey slave
>retarded crossdressing redneck
>crybaby prince
>useless pie lover
>colourful gay bug
>ancient god with a mindset of a teen
>lame nerd wizard
These are all somewhat major male characters I could think of. Where exactly did you find good characterization?

Shows designed for men show an ideal men ought to strive for, to achieve it within a lifetime.
Feminists display men how they currently are or how the degenerates are at their relative best.
One is an ideal realization, the other is sad reality.

Probably because the main cast is already pretty weird to begin with, so putting in other weird male characters in it doesn't weight much.

Back in Lauren's days males were presented as weak and/or stupid. Snips and Snails for example were like the twins from Revenge of the Fallen. Even Big Mac was shown to be submissive to Applejack. Things changed along with the staff.
Now regarding shows for boys, these have declined too. Emasculated subtly. Go watch Inhumanoids. Then watch Ben 10 or something. And keep in mind that Inhumanoids were aimed at elementary school kids while Ben 10 is aimed at 14 year olds.
