Can we all agree that Celestia's plan in Magical Mystery Cure was totally underhanded and villainous?

What plan? She didn't do shit other than sing a song

>Sends Twilight the elements of Harmony in the previous episode.
>Sends Twilight a spell that reacts with the elements of Harmony in Magical Mystery Cure.
>This discords Twilight's friends and makes Twilight believe she herself is responsible.
>Twilight fixes the problem, causes her to transform into an Alicorn Princess.
>Thus, Celestia's plan to coerce Twilight into becoming a Princess worked without a hitch.
Celestia used a batman gambit on Twilight, to use a TV trope here.

I see it more as Celestia playing her part to make sure the "prophecy" is fulfilled. She's extremely wise and must've predicted something big would come out of it when the purple filly got the element of magic for a cutiemark

>>28559164
I guess. But Twilight had no choice in the matter whatsoever, so it can be criticized.

I want a hoof job now, I hope you're happy.

"Chosen ones" dont always get to choose.
>>28559214
But it was Celestia that chose it, not circumstance.

>in magical mystery cure
did you miss the part where she was grooming tiny fillies to save her sister and stuffing the ones who didn't work out in a mirror prison?
>>28559227
The elements/tree of harmony "chose" it, something not even Celestia is able to control
>>28558971
Yes. Season 3 is shit. Worst season ever and that change was the worst a
>>28559243
You're talking about that high school spin-off thing?
>>28559227
Yeah.
I'm saying Twilight, the "chosen one" didn't get a chance to choose, like many others in different serie rarely do.
>>28559250
Shes the one that sent the spell to Twilight! And made sure Twilight had the elements with her.
She knew! Celestia knew!
>>28559362
It was Voldemort that made Harry Potter the chosen one too by failing to kill him, whats your point?

Jim Miller is answering questions right now, so you could go and ask him his opinion about post Alicorn twilight.

>>28559430
Was he even involved in the production/writing in S3?
>>28559444
He has been around since S01 and was elevated to director after Faust and McCarthy left.
>>28559430
Somebody ask him who decided to focus all of DHX's talent on visuals and designs at the cost of neglecting the writing and direction for S06.

And Jim's autism begins.
>>28559189
no we can't
>>28559283
I'm talking about canon. do you seriously think celestia isn't well aware of what she sent twilight off to do from before she was even born? why would a busy queen give an unfair advantage to a single pony?
>>28561927
she was aware only after twilight got her element of magic cutiemark. from then she knew she had to invest in her

>can we all agree
Redditspeak is unwelcome here.
It is underhanded because Twilight didn't ask for this.
We can discuss whether it's evil to have a replacement so that the kingdom can continue existing.

It was a test to see how well she truly knew her friends and how well she could get them to cooperate together. It was her test of both friendship and magic, both of which are equal. As for the execution of the episode and idea, it was pretty shit, but otherwise her ascendancy was just fine.
