Are there any good ones? I'm always up for ponies and retro games. The only one I can remember playing was SLHRPG, and that was pretty meh other than the music and some of the art.

everything else seems to be literal reskins like Megapony or Super Fluttershy Land

Donitz has done quite a bit of stuff for retro-style games. Story of the Blanks is designed to emulate an NES system and Hoofball is designed to emulate a SNES. I think he also has a tech demo for a Wolfenstein 3D style of FPS engine.

Ponyvania is a big one.
There's the good number of fun Flash games but that's early 2000s internet.
Megamare-X is also looking really great so far but that's still not finished.

Nah dude, this isn't a shitty cash-grab like the Gameloft game was. The guy designing it is Alessio Cavatore, a somewhat famous game designer who worked on Warhammer (ask /tg/ if you want the details). He watched the show with his target-audience daughter, he liked the fantasy elements, and he asked Hasbro for a license so he could base a game on it.
