We didn't used to be this pessimistic. People used to talk about episodes fairly and evenly. Discussing what they hated about certain episodes as well as what they loved about them.

Season 3 is the worst season.

Season 6 has been okay, though it's been very hit and miss for me. Some of my favourite episodes are in this season (I fucking loved Hearthswarming Tail). I feel like this is a result of just how many writers we lost since season 5 (Season 5 was the best season by the way, in my opinion a least). It's clearly taking some time for the new writers to adjust and it does show in the quality of the season overall.

Season 3 was definitely worse than this though. And even though Season 6 is probably the second worst season it's certainly not bad enough to warrant the level of hate it gets (still better than like 80 percent of other western cartoons airing right now).

I dunno, season 6 in terms of writing has been extremely on the nose, not to mention Glimmers arc actually making no sense. At least season 3 still understood the tone of the series, at least the writing, especially character interaction and dialogue had the same amount of nuance that made this show so beloved to begin with. I would probably argue that in terms of the general narrative of each episode, season 3 might be worse, but to me this blatant dumbing down of the dialogue and shit is not acceptable. There's clearly been a big change in this department, and I would imagine it certainly has something to do with Haber as story runner and Jayson's absence from direction.
