These are directly based off of the toys, which were designed outside of Hasbro itself. It captures the toys well, it's just that the toys don't make for good animation in any form.

I dont know how to judge EG4 by its writing, but i can tell why their movies are no longer featured on the big screen.
The quality of animation for it is too obsolete. I have seen better animation in weekly cartoons or in cheap anime that are being made within 1 week. Hasbro need to invest in new studio.
