I will agree on the autistic announcement, but it was no big deal if he deleted his pony music because all of them are archived by now, Plus, he made a secondary channel with just his pony remixes, and he only made 10, which isn't a lot.

As for Tombstone, he had a legitimate reason why he stopped making pony music. He don't want to get into legal trouble with Hasbro now that he's signed under a contract, that's the difference between him and Alex. He would continue to do it if it wasn't for that holding tomb back, but he still has plenty of support because he makes mainstream music now outside of ponies.

They were both fine without ponies by the looks of it, but Tomb made a better decision.

As someone who has ties to the music industry, it's entertaining to see people who have no idea how it works attempt to break in. They think that at 18 they have a unique sound or "voice," then when they send their music off to some producer, they're flabbergasted it gets turned down, because that's not what producers want. Producers want musicians who are flexible and can meet demands. Plus, it takes 10-20 years of practice and refinement on average to create something truly great and original that people will want to hear.

So it's a bit complicated.

The old one big archive was the MLP Music Archive, which went offline and unmaintened for years.
Just recently pony.fm imported all of the MLPMA to their collection, and as I understand it the plan was to make pony.fm the new MLP Music Archive.

It's all well and good, except few people actually use pony.fm so for many artists you won't actually find any of their song newer than what was in the old MLPMA.
There's still some 20,000 songs in pony.fm, more than you can listen to, some of which have been deleted from Youtube and impossible to find anywhere else.

You can download the old MLPMA with a torrent (rehosted here: http://ponyvillelive.com/mlpma/), and you can find https://pony.fm/ online but there's no option to download all of pony.fm easily.
I wrote a script to download all of pony.fm for myself and convert it to Opus, but it's not very convenient to use.
I guess I could make a torrent for the pony.fm archive but I don't know if anyone's interested when you can hear it online.

Opus has been shown in listening tests to be better quality then pretty much any other codec when compared at the same bitrate.
It means that we can make files both smaller and higher quality than with plain old mp3.
I used the default encoding settings because I couldn't hear any difference with the original, so that was good enough for me.

Not really, I'd have to remake the whole archive to get the cover images and figure out a way to not lose them in conversion.
