Doing one style and only one style is a red flag that means "Don't criticize me, cislord scum." It shows that you may be lacking in huge areas in the basics of drawing like in perspective and anatomy. Two of those things that Ted can't even seem to do with his style.

It's like never drawing hands or feet because you never got the balls to make mistakes and thusly you will always be a bad artist and unable to handle other's criticism, much less your own. Ted isn't much better than that and it shows that nepotism is more important in this world in most instances than actual competence.
