Another "artist" here, although it would be nice to be able to get paid for drawing since it's something I enjoy I've never really tried to make money off of it because I don't feel like my quality is consistent or good enough. If I make money at something, I want to feel like I'm actually providing something worth the money that people gave me. Beyond that I wouldn't even know how much to charge for any of the kind of clop or other art I have drawn. Meanwhile, I do see less talented artists out there offering to do stuff on commission when I generally draw things on a because you asked for it basis. Then again in between work and running a quest I'm usually pretty unreliable and requests people made have stacked up while I've been doing other things.
There is really no point I'm trying to make here but somewhere in that block of text is why I personally don't make the horse-dollars.
