That might have been true for a brief moment in time during the same month mlp started to become a thing in 4chan; people did not lose the chance to use pony images to trigger other people while holding zero interest in the show.

There might be people who stopped watching the show at X season because they didn't like the course and direction the writers chose. But anyone saying they never actually watched the show is actually trolling.
