>mean to say 'anybody'
>accidentally say 'anypony' instead
Anon demands context. This could be classic.

I'd imagine accidentally saying city/location name puns would be worse.
>>28255059
>talking about the lottery
>mean to say at what amount do you have to contact Camelot
>say "wonder at what point you have to contact Canterlot"
Don't think anyone caught that.

A buddy of mine claims that he did this at a meeting once, but I'm not sure I believe him. The thought just makes me cringe too much for me to want it to be true.

It's just something I do sometimes, really. I don't think I really have much of a story on it. If I remember something, i'll post it.
The only thing like this I can think of that I actually say is the expression, "let's hoof it," which doesn't raise any eyebrows but now gives me an extra chuckle on the inside when I say it without realizing it.
There are a lot of horse idioms in English common usage, when ya think of it, though.
"biting at the bit"
"turn tail and run"
"back in the saddle"
"the grass is greener on the other side" (you ate all the grass on your side, silly pony)
"hot to trot"
"spurred on"
"the cavalry has arrived"
"dog and pony show"
"take the reigns"
so, um, don't be afraid to pretend that whatever accidental pony reference you make is actually a common expression.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth
Long in the tooth
Dark Horse
One horse town
Don't swap horses midstream
Cart before the horse
Bolting the door after the camel has bolted
You can lead a horse to water but you can't get it drunk

It doesn't come up in conversation very often, but I literally forgot how to say 'Camelot'. If we're ever talking about King Arthur's Court, I always accidentally say 'Canterlot' pretty much every time, it's replaced the word in my mind since it's used and heard far more often.
I do things to keep my power level down and avoid doing shit like this. My friends don't care I watch the show but if I slipped up like that, they wouldn't let me live it down.

>be me
>2013
>18 senior in highschool
>live in the ghetto, school is barely 20% white(no pun intended)
>Act like a hard nigga at times, can't be stepped on
>In 5th period class, English, fucking around
>Teacher asks
>"Anon, can I borrow your pen."
>"Uh, yeah... Shit, um, anypony got a pen I could use?"
>mad niggas just turned their heads at me
>mfw I realized what I had said
cart before the horse
horsing around / horseplay
beaten like a rented mule
get off your high horse
backing/betting on the right horse
Now that I think of it, as a teenager I had super long hair and I'd say it was "pretty like a pony" in a joking, ironic sort of way. Now I'd reflexively avoid saying something like that in mixed company because of my private cartoon obsessions. Hm. Irony.
I envy you, anons. I've never lived in a country I could've made such a mistake.
Who am I kidding, I would've ended up doing that on purpose all the time and everywhere.

If it helps just think 'came' and 'lot'

There is only one solution.

One time I accidentally said "Parasprite" when I meant to say "parasite." I wasn't even thinking about it, it just rolled out that way. The guy kind of looked at me like he knew I said it wrong, but I don't know if he knew where I got it from.

I say "Manehattan" every time I try to say "Manhattan"

I never heard of Minneapolis before I heard of Winneapolis, so some people were talking about going there and guess what I said. Luckily I think that is a pretty forgivable mistake that can't be easily associated with MLP.

Did you just assume my species? I am a tigerkin you ignoramus!
Thankfully, I don't know this feel because English isn't my first language.
But I often forget how the fuck Camelot is called because Canterlot has replaced it in my brain.

I have done this...
>Be at work.
>Chatting with work buddy as we work in toys organizing puzzles.
>Camelot puzzle needs to be moved.
>"Hey, it's Canterlo-"
>Time freezes.
>Worker bro is staring at me.
>Italy starts to quake a little.
