I gotta admit, despite of me not liking Starlight from the moment she was introduced, she was better villian than whatever she is supposed to be now. The redeeming does not suit her really much, and the writers seem to make a lousy job with her new role, just like they did when they had to handle big changes in the plot of other characters. There is always an excuse, directors changing the original script of the episode or hasbro not letting the show runners know that more seasons of the show will be produced. With Starlight this wasn't the case, it was all supposed to be planned, and it sucked. It wasn't a complete failure but you have to agree it could have been better.
I don't want to go deeper on this thought because >this is a kid's show< but essentially this was a blunder, even her fans seem to be displeased at how things turned out to be.
