Chrysalis was pretty successful with her infiltration you know, and they spend at least days if not even weeks doing the infiltration.

Yeah you're right, it could have been good if they didn't skip over the whole resolution part of the problem, but they did. It just left a really bad taste in my mouth because the writer sucked spike's dick for too long and couldn't find a way to actually solve the problem in the time given. You don't really get two episodes, and these days you're lucky to get a full 20 minute slot when the most popular format is two 7 minute slots. They did the ultimate cop-out for something that could have been interesting done absolutely any other way.

But hey, this is season goddamn six of a children's show and I'm way too late to complain and have standards when like half of the episodes end this way.

The rush job is the whole reason she failed. She was the only one in any kind of good position, all her changelings in just whatever ponies place they could get into. If she wanted to do it right they wouldn't have ever reviled them self's in the first place or launched a full on attack. See, this episode could have even canonized the whole "nice, non-threatening changeling" thing in a reasonable and enjoyable way, but instead it just demonstrated that they have a deep-seated animalistic savagery in them that they can't completely suppress even if they try.

The only thing you've got is "he was hungry", and even that's pretty flimsy. But to say he wasn't going to be violent? Fucking A, for real? The ending annoyed me a little because it kinda spoiled the episode a bit; all they had to do is show the Thorax still had trouble controlling himself near walking love fountains like McFlurry and Cadence but was genuinely trying to better himself. The Crystal Empire didn't have to welcome him with open arms they just needed to be willing to give him a chance to prove himself.

I think too much emphasis was put on the Racism angle and not enough on bad people wanting to change and being given the chance to do so. Also they kinda shot themselves in the foot by closing off the story instead of leaving it opened ended for a follow up.
