After last week's episode, I no longer can't find any flaw in anything. Even videos of people being beheaded by the ISIS are nicer than 28 pranks later, so I literally can't say anything bad about this episode.

Totally on your side. I can't fucking stand getting called a poltard, because I doubt that a fucking song can undo all previous knowledge and history of changelings. The fucking conflict was Spikes reputation somehow. As if no high celebrity (Highly ranked guard and SO of a princess) has been tricked before by fucking changelings.

It was made clear that Changelings need other's love, otherwise they starve. It's in their nature, it's not something they can simply turn off. Fulfilling that desire with ponylike friendship has never been seen before and has to be tested. I can see it working and I'm fine with it, kinda like laughing was the solution in Monster Inc.

The fucking story doesn't even make sense. When Thorax revealed himself by accident Spike's reputation isn't even in question. Everyone already assumed the changeling basically tricked Spike. Spike simply doesn't resolve the situation, even though he knows Thorax spergs out.

The point of the episode was Spike risking everything for friendship even in the face of losing the one of greatest things in his life. Twilight realized this.

He could argue that changing his form exhausts him or costs him energy, which he really needs, because he is starving, so Thorax could have just been caught when he was resting or when he was somewhere private with Spike. Like, they could discuss the day and how it went, when suddenly guards find them.

And THEN the ponies assume Spike found the spy and they praise him, and Spike goes for the praise instead of standing up for his new friend, because he gives a shit about being the brave and glorious. So he actually goes with his title, which was being setup in the exposition.

Then the spy should've been thrown into jail, but I was okay with them kicking him out, even if the concept of Jail was already there in a CMC episode. It just makes it easier for Spike to bring Thorax infront of all his friends and then stand up for him. Even though it would also be cool if Spike confesses while the princesses watch Thorax in his cell and discuss things.

it should have been a two part episode. it should have played out where spike slowly convinces the city, twilight, shining armor, and than cadence at the end. by showing off how useful and friendly thorax was. but no we got a shit tier song instead.

Thorax was the best part of this episode.

It was an ok episode, rushed as fuck, should have lasted two episodes.
Ponies should have been less trusting of the changeling, and the changeling should have mentioned how he saved Spike too.
I give it a 6.5/10 and hope they can bring more shit like this at least, and don't go any lower.

They actually get around this because of the books. Agent of SMILE has the same issue with changelings overloading on love and losing control.

It also explains why Chrysalis impersonated Cadence herself- lesser changelings would have blown their disguise getting as much love as Shining delivered (note her surprise that it was potent enough to fuck Celestia up).

I hate how they dragged Glimmy simply so Spike could say IF THE NIGHT TURNS TO DAWN while pointing at her.
