If you asked /co/ today do you think they'd say they always had a problem with MLP due to newfag turnover?
>>
I think the only reason anyone had a problem with you bronies is your immensely irritating behavior and obnoxious personalities
>>
>>28114931
>speaking from an outsider's POV

Stop hiding.
>>
>>28114934
It says a lot about your community that you are incredulous that an outsider would visit
>>
>>28114940
Hello Glim Spam Meister, how many threads have been deleted so far?
>>
>>28114531
Until /hsg/ and its members are Kill On Sight-tier to mods, they'll say they had a problem with MLP due to EVERYTHING.

>>28114931
>>28114940
Speaking of which, hey Homeshit. How's the pedophilia?

>>
>>28114944
>>28114951
It also says a lot about your community that you have a lot of enemies
>>
>>28114940
Why would an outsider visit though? It's like jumping in a pool and complaining about getting wet.
>>
>>28114957
>Enemies
I think you're taking this a little too seriously. This is an image board, not a battleground for a war. We post pone and no hooves content. Join if you want, keep up your "war" if you don't, we'll still carry on regardless.
>>
>>28114973
> no hooves

>>
>>28114962
Mostly to marvel at the things you people tell yourselves
>>
>>28114957
Enemies made by /b/ and some very autistic people at /v/.

Not our fault ponies trigger and is treated like it's the bane of pornography when posted outside.
>>
>>28115020
Enemies made by yourselves and your own behavior

Even today you still need scapegoats because you can't accept you genuinely alienated people

I will never get over that. 6 years later and so many people are still legitimately angry over a mediocre show.
>>
>>28115028
That's generalization, if not projection actually. Mods from the boards have chilled out and have reacted less brash about banning ponies unless the posted image was meant to troll or as a reaction image. /v/ had a history with trolls using ponies to spam across the board. /co/'s problem was simply having the generals flood the catalog. We never made enemies intentionally, though the fandom itself had been obnoxious at its golden years and being a weird subject of a children's show, it has recieved ire and distaste from many others.
>>
>>28115031
Meanwhile /co/ still uses the term "THE NEXT MLP", which I don't know if they mean the next thing to clog the catalog or quite literally the next internet phenomenon.
>>
>>28115035
Telling yourself a comforting tale about why you are hated is easier to accept than the hard truth that people genuinely didn't accept you socially and in fact grew to despise you
>>
>>28115046
Alright then.
>>
>>28115046
But... that was the truth? I think the only thing really missed was the avatarfagging and shitpostig sending /b/ into the biggest frenzy, and that's basically just what happened on /v/, but made more impact because more people go to /b/ than anything.
>>
>>28115058
Don't bother.

It's barneyfag. I've had nearly the same conversation before with the same answers involving "No it was all you, your existence made everyone upset and you all need scapegoats".
>>
>replying to bait
>>
>>28115067
If it's not true then why do none of you have any friends? It's easy to see the sadness and loneliness amongst bronies.

Something drove your peers away from you when you were young.

>>
>>28115144
Don't be silly. Barneyfag never calls you bronies.
>>
>>28115182
Oh that's right, he normally just says die die die like an edge lord. But maybe he switched tactics in his "never ending war".
>>
>>28114931
As can be said about many fanatics, such as sports fans who riot at times. However, that is a general statement, so not everyone will fit under it.
>>28114940
Tribal mentality at its finest. Outsiders aren't fully welcomed, especially if they don't conform to the same standards as the set group does.
>>28114957
>>28115016
You're taking a moral high ground in both these statements. One implies that you're above the pettiness and supposed delusions of this community, which you not be. You are setting yourself to be target, which in return, you will probably take any negative response as a justification of your claims. Which is petty. As for the other reason for the moral high ground, these "enemies" you speak of are made from personal matters that don't overall effect the set group. Like said, they're personal, thus unrelated to the larger group (more likely individuals within a group). Also, your statement can apply to anything, "It says a lot about [insert] that you have enemies." The statement claims that us, as an expanse and varied group, are fully responsible for a conflict that's caused by a number of variables. It's vilification that paints a picture as black and white.

such loneliness
so much projection

Has anyone ever told you that brevity is the soul of wit?
>>
>>28115250
A line said by a character that Shakespeare lampshades as a gigantic tool and dimwit.
>>
>>28115278
It may have been used by Shakespeare, but that doesn't mean that he invented the phrase.

You're very educated to know that, though. How did it go so wrong that you became a brony?
>>
>>28115250
I would have spent the 15 minutes I used doing nothing anyways.
>>
>>28115016
>>28115250

Why should a dog, a horse, a rat lack life, and thou have breath at all?

The first recorded usage of 'brevity is the soul of wit' is Polonius' line from Hamlet, so it appears that like him, you're a bloviating moron unaware how out of your depth you are.

Bane?
>>
>>28115580
The first recorded usage, sure. But Shakespeare was around in the same century as the revolution of the printing press. Talk to an English history major and they will tell you the same thing - that many phrases supposedly "coined" by Shakespeare were actually in use - just not written down. Shakespeare's plays were accessible and could be understood by many, which is part of the reason they became so famous.

Never thought I'd be arguing about Shakespeare, but here we are.
>>
>>28115637
But as he was the first to write it down, the context in which he employed it is the best guide for its interpretation that we'll ever get. And given that it was contained in a line for Lord Polonius of all characters, it's not likely meant to be taken at face value. As we have no record of prior usage, any prior usage that may have occurred is a moot point.

>Never thought I'd be arguing about Shakespeare

Given the comical level of pretension you've displayed ITT your surprise is rather unsurprising.
>>
>>28115980
The irony of expending this much gas over the phrase "brevity is the soul of wit" because you didn't like being called a fat bag of hot air much like Polonius
>>
>>28115980
>the context in which he employed it is the best guide for its interpretation that we'll ever get
The line can be ironic or not ironic depending on the current context it is used in. The original context doesn't really matter.

>>
>>28116113
>everyone who disagrees with someone is the same person

>>28116119
>The original context doesn't really matter

No, it really, really does. Using the line unironically shows ignorance of the material being quoted. It's like unironically quoting one of Satan's lines from Paradise Lost.
>>
>>28116341
Yes, it really, really does not. Can you honestly not see why the original context does not matter? Do you want me to explain [why] to you?
>>
>>28116369
That's a bluff I'm willing to call.
>>
The line is meant to be ironic because the character is a bloviating moron, it's just that it also can work at face value and is pretty true when taken as such. So while the original context is to make fun of a fool, the line works.

Anyway, I'd figure /co/ would just be upset that we're the reason they can't have out of season generals.
>>
>>28116426
The original context does not matter because the line is not used in the original context. Is this not obvious?
It is just a sentence given context by the person who uses it. It can be ironic or not depending on the context it is used in.
>>
>>28116450
Weak. I expected better from you anon.

>The original context does not matter because the line is not used in the original context.

Not so. The context in which the line is originally placed is important regardless. If I pull "hell's a fable" out of Faustus, then use it unironically, I've made myself a fool, because the line comes from a character who ends the play condemned to eternal damnation. So to anyone familiar with Hamlet, someone saying "brevity is the soul of wit" in an unironic context sounds like a moron. The anon who first posted it ITT clearly intended it to be a Shakespeare reference, or at least knew where it came from, which is what makes it stupid. The general public can be forgiven when they do it, because they don't know the source material.
>>
>>28114531
this is 4chan, where people can and do get triggered over the tiniest things
it's like they think it's fun
and then there are those who know what triggers people, so they antagonize them with pics of whatever the flavor of the trigger is at the time
the mlp thing was a strange phenomenon
if people hadn't kept crying about ponies being posted, we'd still be on /co/
it's like those banana pics, the more you complain the more people will post it

In general, it's really not important, other than to quibblers such as yourself.
> I've made myself a fool,
Hmm.
Anon. For as smart as you are trying to be, all you're doing is coming across as dense.
>clearly intended it to be a Shakespeare reference
Yes. The line can be a reference AND taken at face value at the same time. Just as "Hell's a fable" can be used at face value, as well.
That's my point.
I know why you can't accept that (I'll even give you a hint); I just wish you were at least self-aware and honest enough to admit it.
Bye.
