It was a mistake.
No matter how hard they bitch about it, EqG is part of the franchise and part of the board with equal if not more popularity as most of the other memes they keep around to circlejerk over. Even just recently the EqG trailer threads have been getting more hyp than the fucking show's own trailers.

Players come and go. The third EqG movie didn't bring anything new to the table, so other flavor of the month memes made it onto the team. Blender decisions were always something else, and sometimes they resulted in more EqG characters, other times in less.

With new players and new shitposting memes, I am sure there will be a EqG player/model on the team again, even if the franchise dies at some point.

The "no hooves" meme is more a way to express dissatisfaction at the setting and stories of EqG. I'm pretty sure that if they all stayed pony and nothing else was changed that it would still have something.

It isn't about the hooves, it's about the reminder that EqG as a whole exists and isn't like FiM in the way many enjoy it.
