In all 6 years that was the most dumbed down episode ever. I mean usually the lowest they would tarket are the tweens and preteens with some humor for adults but AJ's day off was just cringe it was like jiggling keys.

I don't really get the hate for AJ's Day Off.
It may seem 'stupid', but a lot of people who focus on manual labour, keeping to tradition or staying true to themselves are often faced with this problem.

It's sort of a similar deal to anxiety; a person doesn't have to be a shaky case looking like Fluttershy to be it - it's the inner workings of a person that most common types tend to overlook.

the only thing it hurt me was the overwork
i know sometimes you can do a little extra, like scaring the pigs so they wake up or fixing parts of your fence instead of replace everything. sometimes is faster/cheaper.
but the parts it hurt me was hanging out like it was mission impossible just to feed them, or put all the chicken food plate by plate instead of the normal big plate most farmers put outside so they can eat. and the vault was the most painful, why you open pipe by pipe if it was faster open all the pipes, and then open the main pipe? i mean, i know you can get caught in a routine, but your mind in some point must tell you "hey! what if you try this?"

AJ has been pretty loyal too. Rarity refers to herself as the "smile patrol". Pinkie Pie is pretty kind. The elements are just a big trait of there's, but just because someone else shows those traits doesn't mean they should get it.

So honestly, what I didn't get was why a whopping two examples means AJ is more generous than Rarity.
