There is nothing wrong with arguing whether X is better than Y, the point was that those who like something simply for the joy it brings them are for no reason to be bombarded by others' opinions as to why they shouldn't.
To hold extensive discussions about the show, worded dissertation of ones feelings towards it, and to put its details under a meticulous eye and properly evaluate them is a good thing to do, but people shouldn't go around loudly telling others off for not sharing said of opinion.
If there are people who enjoy a show/book/movie/whatever, if it brings them delight and they do not pester others, then there is no reason why anyone should go and question them, or tell them they have bad taste.
No one will ever be right in loving one thing over another. Sure, you can love a season more than another and you can feel offended by a new episode, you are free to feel and have whatever opinion you want, but that doesn't mean that everyone else should hear or share your reasoning. Putting into question whether or not the show is good can and should be done, it is enlightening to have a rich, meaningful discussion, but it shouldn't be forced into those that are not interested in having it.
We all hate it when an anon comes to a certain thread to argue why he is objectively right when compared to others and this is exactly the case.
Obviously saying that you like the show simply because you do will not and should not hold any ground if you are critically reviewing it, but when you are being asked simply why you still watch it, it makes perfect sense.
The point that I am trying to make is that there is no wrong in liking the show simply because, same with not doing so, but forcing the discussion outside a proper outlet or dissing those that share a different opinion (in any place), is, and people should learn that holding one's tongue is as important, or more so, than being able to eloquently voice one's opinion.
