All I can say on the legal issue that using stolen assets only proves "actual copying," so two elements of copyright infringement, depending on which circuit court jurisdiction such a case would be heard in, left needed to be proven: that the matter is copyrightable, and that there is substantial similarity of the copyrightable portions of both works. Can't say for sure but I would bet money on the fact that Davies was an animator for the show. His overheads may have asked him to cut it out. That is an uneducated guess though. And you have a solid point.

All I am saying is that when Jan took down his videos, people simply reuploaded them and they are still there today. For how much longer know one knows but they have been up for years now. So Viv should expect people to reupload his old videos as a kind of backlash. They are going to get a good amount of views as usual but they won't belong to Viv anymore. So if he reanimates them, then so be it, but he is going to be competing for views against his own videos assuming it plays out this way. When it was like, what, seven? And even if they were short/four frames, they were something, and had a charm to them, and weren't just for money, and gave me a reason to look up your name with relative frequency because there was actually a decent chance to see something new?

Thing is back in 2011-2013 i was able to just make enough on youtube to be able to do it full time.

However youtube changed the CPM model to watch time instead of views, and so many many animators have become unable to survive on that revenue (and why so many called it quits on yt).

Also why letsplays exploded. I do other work these days and youtube and such isn't my primary income anymore, if you want to know how much that 1.5 million views a month earns about $600 a month, which is nice but not something you can live on. Also i spent like a year relearning to animate and draw, toonboom is fucking lovely. I am back to working on animation a lot now, i still love it after years.

Currently just to have and study, and as I've been slowly trying to unlock the secrets of animation, I'll open them up and see how they layered stuff/connected pieces/where they divided the puppets, how each piece is connected to the whole.
