Finally, here's my (incorrect) winged Twilight. She's super cute, but I wanted a wingless version, so I'll have to play angry soccer mom on the phone tomorrow.

All in all, really love these plushies. Once I get Pinkie and original Twilight, I'll be satisfied. If they ever release a Dash with fixed eyes, I'll be even MORE satisfied. Not holding my breath on that one, though.

Good thing about custom plushies is that they usually made with 100% sentetic materials. And as far as my knowledge of bugs go, they only like it al naturale. Bud bugs are also fucking hard to deal with.

if you're just making one plush, I don't suggest getting an embroidery machine at all. Depending on the size, applique should be just fine. Cheap but decent sewing machines are out there. I've been using a Brother jx2517 and it only ran me about 60-70 usd. If you get the fabric from certain places Big Z Fabric for your minky you can save a good bit too.

First of all $300 is nothing when you are talking plush, if you sell just TWO plushies and sell your used machine you will get everything back.
Secondly - there are A LOT of options to get around without investing more than a hundred bucks.
And lastly - be more confident, if you will play too safely you wont get too far in plush "business".

Im not in a great financial situation, which makes me afraid of making the innitial investment. I only have experience drawfagging before and although I easily made back on that investment, that was only a 80 euro investment. But it took me years to get good enough with it to actually make any dosh.

If this is a similar case, I wouldnt mind per se, but it wouldnt be an easy investment for me to make. Once I get going and really get the hang of things I think I'll be fine, the problem for me is that innitial investment and learning curve that intimidates me.

Well, drawfagging is much more difficult than plushfagging. And if you feel like trying first before investing use alternatives, ask someone to make embroidery 4 you for a small amount of cash, or just use applique, simple sewing machine (if u still don't have one) doesn't cost much.

So, in talks with Neysa about what plush. I need your help plush thread, you're my only hope. Here's a snippet of a conversation between me and her:

" guess right now I'm stuck between Coco, Sassy Saddles, Marble, and Celestia.

I think I can strike out Celestia as while she really is one of my favorites, she's extremely expensive, and an all white pony (a dirt and dust nightmare). Also, you've made her before, and after seeing your upcoming list, it seems to be a lot of the same. You might say it's ok, but I don't want you to turn into Rarity making a bunch of Princess Dresses (I cosmetically modify Nerf blasters as a little side hobby/job and hate it when people keep asking for the same thing).

With Sassy, she seems pretty complex. How her mane is orange and yellow on the outside and purple on the inside, the 'fancy unicorn' body shape (but I'd be fine with your normal pattern, we talked about that), and since clothes would take extremely long, I wouldn't request those, but then she doesn't have a canon cutie mark (although a very popular fan one).

Coco seems like she'd be a little easier. Simpler 2 shade mane, tan body, established cutie mark, cute little collar and hair pin (that I would gladly pay extra for).

Marble, is well, Marble. No accessories, seems like Fluttershy V2, grey with a 2 tone grey mane.

There's also some wildcards out there. It's just really hard to choose, as while Fluttershy is absolutely my favorite, pretty much every other pony comes in 2nd, so it's like choosing out of a pond of 1000.

I know I also like Cadence (but once again, price may be an issue), Trixie, Zecora, Cheerilee, Spitfire, Bon Bon, Redheart, Mayor Mare, Octavia, Twilight Velvet, aaaah, you shouldn't have given me that list!

If you can give me a couple more days to lock down an answer hat'd be great."

"I do like Sassy Saddles. I've tried looking at plushies of her, but there don't seem to be too many. The blue minky available is all too dark really, so she'd be a little on the dark side of what she should be, unless I custom dye some white to a very pale blue. Otherwise Baby Blue is close enough. Salt Water is too aqua, even tho the preview pictures on Fabric.com look close, I've got some on hand and it's too aqua. I'd use my normal body shape with the Princess head I made for Celestia, that would look nice on her without making a whole new pattern. The underside of her mane has a gradient. I would have to make it a single color. Her dress is pretty complex and I don't want to make it. I'm fine with whatever cutie mark you think looks good. Her mane style kinda calls for multiple 'noodles' of hair. A technique that I haven't done yet. I'm willing, just afraid that the extra ladder stitching to get the pieces aligned might not look as good as I picture it.

Coco Pommel would be pretty easy to make. I'd probably make her little hair flower out of cut out felt and her ascot from minky or cotton, whichever you prefer. Body colors are easily matched, as are her mane colors. All around very pretty pony and sweet and cute.

I may veto Marble. Strange as it seems, while working on Derpy I got more depressed because her grey color didn't excite me. I know that sounds strange, but I know the same thing would happen again and I don't feel like making another grey body.

Plush Thread I had the strangest dream last night.

I don't recall most of it, but I remember at one point feeling a little off, so I looked in the mirror. The more I looked, the more things changed. Suddenly I had eye shadow, my jaw and overall facial structure seemed to reconfigure itself to look more feminine, my eyes turned from brown to purple, my hair grew longer and black, and styled itself like Octavia, and a little white collar with a bowtie appeared around my neck. I even tried to speak and I sounded like the fan voice for Octavia.

Had this commissioned by TopPlush, and he hit an absolute home run on it. Love how detailed it is, and it didn't put a massive dent in my wallet ($284 in total, if I remember correctly).

Like someone mentioned though, I do have a line right now. Likely won't be through that until October, and from there I've got a couple for friends I've been promising forever. But I could just pop yours in with those.

If I had to pick a plush to make for the fun of it, I've wanted to do Photo Finish for a while. I really like making little outfits for everyone, even if it adds a lot more complexity to it. Granted, hers is really fucking complex with the stripes and such, but it'd be a fun challenge.

I'd imagine so with a bit of thread sculpting. Just feed the thread/needle through the nose, and then to the back of the head a couple. Pull until desired scrunch is achieved. Reinforce with a couple more passes. Sew head on.
