Perhaps it's because I've distanced myself too much to care what /mlp/ thinks of me but why hesitate? You'll never get it if you don't try, and every attempt has a chance of working no matter how little.

I wouldn't have done this if there was any other way. Probabily about 1% if not less of the fandom knows of Nyx now, I wasn't willing to let my daughteru die off like that. By any means.

When I first started doing this, even in it's infancy when it was cute and minor, I still got major hate from it. Rather, I got more hate back then than I do now.

I tried to stay true to what I believed in but eventually I had to sell some my humanity and move onto other options. I'm not a monster, I do feel regret over my actions but I don't dwell on them.

Seeing the continued success and fame of other fanfictions like Cupcakes, My Little Dashie and Fallout Equestria made my blood boil, I was jealious of that. I had so much envy of them. It didn't feel right, how come they deserve the treatment but Nyx doesn't? There is no where near as big of hate for those other fics aside from Cupcakes when it first came out.

Perhaps I'm stroking my own ego, but I feel like I have made an increase in Nyx related content over the past year or two I've done this.

Then Flurry Heart came along and I felt genuine fear and a genuine amount of powerlessness. Nyx is known for being a filly alicorn, and that's what Flurry Heart was.

How something could just pop out of nowhere and have so much love while Nyx fell to ruin in the dark? It wasn't fair.

I've distanced myself even more recently. For months I had been planning for the 5 year anniversery of Past Sins. I personally emailed Sethisto and he said they'd work on a post for that day.

But nobody came.

I had never felt so humiliated in my entire time doing this, 18th of July. Past Sins may have FINALLY become a fucking fandom known name again. Worst part is I checked everything I could think of. DeviantArt, Tumblr, Youtube, heck as much as I could and for that day no new Nyx.

I adopted this opinion of myself a while ago but it still holds true. A quote from Past Sins.

Well everyone saw me and Nyx as shitposts so I accepted it. I guess now that I think of it, I do find relief that people take pity on Nyx and don't think of her as a shitpost.
