When this episode aired I was drinking heavily and through out the day I just kept re watching it, crying pretty much every time, I don't even care that the cutie marks weren't what I wanted it was such a sweet episode

There were a lot more reasons than that that made me cry, for one things coming full circle with Diamond Tiara, the sad truth about her life, and then the CMC trying their best to help her despite everything in the past between them, and then her finally realizing her faults and standing up to her mom and helping out all the other school ponies, and then the simply emotional image of the CMC with their elders and how proud they were, the episode as a whole was just super sweet.....even if they didn't get their cutie marks nothing would change for me....and yeah the songs help push those emotional buttons a lot too
