Rainbow was alright in Season 1 and Season 2 and I guess till is on occasion. Unfortunately, she and Pinkie posses the type of personality that easily lends itself to bad writing if not handled by a competent or caring writer.

Even then, she was slow to pick up on obvious things with an overly introverted friend that was suffering from crippling anxiety, but she at least redeemed herself in the end. Season 2 was by far her worst season.
