I am currently seeing someone who basically marathoned seasons 1-5, about 40% of which were watched in my presence. She was wondering why I liked the show and didn't think I was serious at first. When I explained that I actually did enjoy it she gave it a shot herself since she likes animation (mostly standard disney stuff). She likes the show, and likes me to play the songs I burned to a cd while in my car, though she only likes a few of them and tends to skip most.

I have a bf who got me really into the show and I
ended up getting more serious than he was about the fandom. I'm a drawfag, I blast MLP music in my car, and he's gotten me t-shirts as gifts throughout the 5 years we've been dating.
When he went to med school and I moved across the country for an internship we decided to be in an open relationship but it's hard to reveal who I am even around my other female friends, not just guys I'm interested in.
