It just means the bandwagoners are finally gone. Good riddance.
>>27780099
/mlp/ didn't exist yet
It was just one constant thread

the /b/ shitposters left.
>>27780264
...but some things never die.
>>27782056
A yesssssss, I'm looking for a Mr. Nyx Shitposter, we're expecting his shitpost any moment now.
>>27782098
Nyx is best OC and you fags all know it
>>27780099
we all know, we are still however bigger than almost any other board besides the main ones like /b/ and /pol/
if we repealed gr15, reduced the amount of shitty rules, and got better mods we could be back to 1k posts an hour
>>27782158
>implying
>>27782181
>got better mods
we'll all go to Equestria and marry our waifus before that shit happens
Fluke-based explosion =/= actual state of the fandom
Comparing the Brony Boom to the actual state of this fandom is like comparing a star's ongoing life cycle with its super nova. Just doesn't work.
>>27782158
Snowdrop's cuter.
>>27780099
Wow, that's actually not bad, I was expecting a lot less.
OP do you have post statistics for the entire period? I sure would like to see that.
>>27780099
That number can only get lower as we progress.
>>27780264
What even happened to /b/read? I know they ended up on MLPchan (and considering that got devoured by Ponychan, they've probably dissipated out of cyberspace) at around S3, but I never learned why.
400+ an hour is a pretty decent number for an active community.
At least we're not blazing like /b/ and everything gets lost in the shuffle.
>you'll never be on /mlp/ again pre-Scruffening
Feels bad man
>>27780099
It isn't dead, it's just the fandom has been more spread out. Most of the fandom doesn't even browse /mlp/
>>27780118
Honestly this.
All of the hipster fags who heard about MLP and started watching to feel special and different are gone now, only actual fans remain.
>>27783793
best ship
That's not the only factor OP. There's also the longer posting time, which stopped a lot of storytime thread, there's the fact that pure shitposting threads like the /b/read and all aren't made anymore, so we don't have hundreds of shitpost, but more content heavy posts, see also: All our CYOAs and green.
I don't mind, sure as fuck the fandom slowed down, HARD, but there's still Greentext, fics, and art being made, and I enjoy a few CYOA, this easily takes up a LOT of my free time, I don't mind if the board is half slower since a good chunk of that half was probably shit anyway.
TLDR: OP is a doomsaying fuckign faggot.
>>27784659
Less tripfaggotry back this up.
>>27780099
Tired memes are tired.
>>27780099
like Twilight said:
Sweep!Sweep!Sweep!
those are the posts per hour sweeping the bandwagoners out....basically /b/
it could have been much less though
>>27780118
Pretty much this. Around this time and Post S3 hiatus is when we had the worst drama to, started by tumblrites (Down With Molestia etc). Nowadays all the tumblr bandwagoners have moved mostly to SU and the like, meaning that the pony fandom is a lot more calm.
The amount of times we've heard people say the fandom is dying... It makes you wonder if it'll ever stop. People claimed the fandom was dying back when season 1 ended, during the hiatus of season 2, when season 2 ended, hiatus between season 2 and 3, hiatus between 3 and 4, equestria girls, end of season 4, hiatus between 4 and 5, season 5's ending, hiatus between 5 and 6.
Do you notice a pattern here? The pony fandom isn't going anywhere for a long time, I fully expect it to continue after the show eventually ends similar to how the star trek fandom continued and you know what? They still have a very large presence at all the comic conventions. I expect the pony fandom to do the same thing. Sure things will slow down over time, everything does. But the core fans are here to stay.
>>27785234
>>27785204 fag here
I joined pretty late to the fandom(2014) but I have to say that while we are all here faggots(and always will),I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised that you have made it so far
I would like to say this in the 6th anniversary in October again if this board keeps itself alive
I've got to admit that it feels kinda nicer after tumblr left the fad, there was a lot of shitposting in 2014....and for the 6th season, I noticed the discussion here for the eps were much less shit than back then
TLDR:Keep it up faggots!
>>27780099
I haven't watched the show since Season 1 so I don't care
>>27785272
Interesting you bring that up. I actually watched the original airing back on 10/10/10 because I was babysitting at the time. It's been a long ride and I don't intend on getting off of it anytime soon. I really love the show and I love the fandom. I take a huge part in the NYC meetup group and now I own the second largest pony convention in the world... It's been rather spectacular and I can easily say that the pony fandom has been the best experience of my life.
>>27780099
You know, even cut in half from our peak that post number is insane for a board dedicated entirely to one show.... sooo yeah, not feeling too bad.
I got bored and decided to take all the counts from the hyperindex for /co/'s mlpg, make a graph out of them, and then scale /mlp/'s total activity to it and got this.
If you take the post count from the end of /co/'s mlpg and draw a straight line to the right then you'll find that around November of last year /mlp/'s activity got down to around that level on average. Also kind of funny to note that at the start of /mlp/ there were as many images flying around as there used to be posts in mlpg on /co/ just a little bit earlier.
>>27780099
>I like things based on how many other people like them
>>27784507
>tfw no one Sages anymore.
Cultural change?
>>27785499
It's invisible as of around October 2013, so archives can't show it on the graph after that point. People still do it though.
>>27785321
I actually take part in that NYC group as well, meetups still seem to be as active and vibrant as ever.
>>27785566
Oh cool! I'm the guy that runs the weekly episode screenings and I'm one of the five people who put on the monthlies.
>>27785637
Im the guy who regularly has been bringing Rarity plushies to said weekly screenings as of late and generally can ramble non-stop about how much I like her.
>>27785648
Nice. I'm looking forward to doing more episode screenings starting in August. I'm a bit nervous about the heating situation at Cap but hey, you work with what you can get
>>27784496
The MLPG archive still exists.
Make up a decent script to collect all the data and you could expand that thing right up until the creation of /mlp/.
>>27784507
>>27785468
Neat.
>MLPG images flatlined.
What?
>>27785897
The ride's starting to wear down.
Pack your bags,
We've gotta vacate sooner than you think.
>>27785820
Almost every MLPG thread ends when the image limit is reached.
As long as there is a consistent amount of threads per day, so will the number of images stay consistent.
>>27785897
Well, at least we're doing better than Tumblr: The Cartoon, Disputedly Tumblr: The Game, and what even is five nights at freddies to get it's own mini autistic fanbase?
>>27785669
>T-this fancy MS paint comic ought to completely disprove it.
>>27785897
Wow SU is doing a lot worse than I thought, I thought it'd have more lasting time. Undertale starting to slide down fast isn't surprising though, it's a game that probably won't ever get any sequels.
Really all this proves is that even slightly deminshed we are STILL the top fandom.
>>27785992
FNAF is Furry horror shit basically.
>>27786106
>we are STILL the top fandom
aren't you being proud of it,friend?
>>27784507
>What even happened to /b/read?
I don't know but good riddance to those niggers. They didn't even try to be pony related.
We're not dead, we just don't care as much about pregnant pony generals and similar crap.
