I was surprisingly pleased by how non-instrusive her addition was, knowing she was added cause of the demand for a pink princess. Skimming over why a third alicorn exists was probably the best way to go, and she actually looks pretty nice, has a fun enough personality and a solid singing voice.

She's shit. A toyetic inclusion with barely a semblance of a character, introduced with a Gary Stu to introduce another unnecessary alicorn later down.

Her inclusion didn't even expand any Alicorn lore beyond Flurry being "born" as one. There could have been so many opportunities for her or Twicorn) to have included some interesting storytelling about their race or experiences as such, but its been completely wasted.

Truth be told, I wish she never existed.

Its no life goal for any of them - its just what they all do.
I also wouldn't call keeping the Crystal Ponies happy and loving her life goal so much as a necessity to keep the heart of their empire working, all to avoid a chilling death from their environment.

I can agree, but to have the title "Princess of Love" seems more specific and focused compared to the other princesses. I may be grasping for straws by saying this next part, but I think that Tia, Luna, and Twiggles are more specific and focused with their duties so their roles as peace/harmony/safety, safety, and national defense, respectively, are more obligatory/necessary and that although their roles share some overlap with altruistic characteristics, their roles are not as focused as Cadance's primary role being the assurance of happiness, joy, and love.

Its because that sort of magic is unique to her. Just as Friendship Magic (at least, in terms of potency and understanding) is unique to Twilight, and Dream Magic is unique to Luna.

Cadence's love magic and its role is indeed an obligatory one, just as Twilight's and the other Princesses' responsibilities are, because of the locale she is stationed literally needs it to survive.

I'd also argue that Twilight's cause of "spreading the magic of Friendship" is indeed a very focused one, seeing that she (and her friends) uses the Map and their understanding of Friendship problems to make use of her gift also.

So, its really not unique to Cadence handling love tbqh famu
