Actually, no she didn't. Faggot13 made a sequel story that revealed that Sweetie Belle survived and was placed in a mental hospital by her parents. There she was abused by the staff, later when she got out she began to cut herself and kill small animals. After she's discovered in the act of killing one by Flutterhshy, she gets caught by her parents again, who decide to send her to live with her grandparents. The story ends with Sweetie waiting at the bus station and spotting Rarity in the distance.

Ignoring that, Rarity is looking for a prince to treat her like a princess and likely would have beat the shit out of anyone who hit her rather than desperately clinging to them. She already left Blueblood once for far less severe reasons. She has shown she would prefer to keep looking rather than settle for someone less than ideal, which is in line with her independent nature. You realize she left her parents while fairly young and is running her own business, yes?

Rarity's parents have never shown any sign of never loving their kids. If that were the case, Rarity would be trying desperately to impress her father. Instead, she seemed relatively passive about them visiting.

Sweetie Belle would tell her friends anything that happened to her, no matter what it was. They're as close as siblings, and if Rarity somehow failed to fulfill that role, her friends would.

A straight up headcanon would be assuming stuff about changelings because there's almost nothing canon to go on. An educated guess about how a character would respond is more about being empathetic. Even the least empathetic people have some idea about how a character should behave in situations.

It can be argued that it's in character because her behavior surrounding a crush has never been established before that point, and her behavior with a crush is in a vacuum, making it easier to argue that it's just another dimension of Twilight being brought to light. The OP story flies in the face of what's been established already. Rarity doesn't like Blueblood because he's a massive ass, and didn't give Rarity enough attention. Rarity has also been shown to love her sister immensely. The reason the two are distant is because their interests and backgrounds don't overlap nearly as much as Applejack and Apple Bloom who not only live together, but share work together, and both have an interest in the rodeo and the Sisterhooves Social. Rarity's relationship with Sweetie Belle is mostly disinterest, and occasional frustration, but all that stops once Rarity sees when her (in)actions get in the way of Sweetie Belle and the things she has sentimental value to (such as spending time with her big sister). And if Rarity cares enough to drop her hangups to participate in the Sisterhooves Social with Sweetie Belle to make her happy, I can bet that she would put her sister's safety above social status any day.

So like I said, I stand by my thoughts on the RD story. Rainbow's character is a mess, and not in a good way. I'm a person who thinks that putting in "what if" statements into MLP fanfiction is totally acceptable, no matter how ridiculous the hypothetical. I think a problem arises when the hypothetical becomes the source for exploration.

Let me explain my position, because this will help explain why I thought one story was frustrating, while the other was actually pretty damn great. Think of AiE. You introduce a human into the mix in order to spend more time with the characters we know. Anon goes against the canon of the show, which is why you almost never see an AiE where Anon's existence is taken as a serious question about the nature of Equestria. Why do an exploration of something that you're just going to construct to fit whatever your needs are? At that point, you're not exploring Equestria, you're exploring something similar to Equestria. That's why Anon's existence is hardly touched upon, and if it is, it's usually explained away by something like he drank the magic bleach, or something. Same thing with characters, except it's even harder to get away with. Why change a character's personality and history when doing a character study like in your RD story? When you stretch a character like that, you're not really using that character; you're using that character's likeness, and like I said, why do that? It would be better to go all out and introduce a new character rather than use a familiar character as a loose shell.

Now, onto the Trixie story. First, you didn't change the character around much. She's still that vein, narcissistic, Trixie we're familiar with, and to my pleasant surprise, you didn't give her a half-assed "woe is me, my childhood was awful," backstory that plagues so many stories like this because the author couldn't come up with a way to make us sympathetic towards the character. I like the way you show her being submissive, not because it's cute, but because it shows that everyone, even she, has a breaking point. Showing her like this gave her an added layer of depth to the character that didn't really conflict with her portrayal in the show. She's a harmless narcissist, whose personality and attitude got her way in over her head and in an absolutely awful situation. You also showed that she has a repentant side. She realized where her mistakes have lead her, which makes her all the more sympathetic in this.

Not only is your interpretation of Trixie believable and easy to empathize with, her situation isn't farfetched either. There really are sick people like the "Papa" that use their wealth and power to take advantage of, and abuse, young girls like Trixie who think that they're smart, tough, and mature, enough to handle a situation like that.

Last point. After reading a bit more of your stories, I think I have a better feel for your aesthetic. You're imagery is dark, explicit, and very heavy handed. And when I say heavy handed, I don't mean it in a derogatory way. I mean that you're not very subtle, and you don't leave a lot for the reader to infer. This isn't a bad thing at all, in fact, it serves your Trixie story very well. The mixture of believable characters, scenario, and explicit imagery all work to elevate the story to be something more than the sum of its parts, and that's not something I say about a lot of greentexts.

As far as actual criticism goes, Trixie talks fondly of her real father, but I would have liked to have SEEN her father's love and protection. We don't have much interaction with her parents at all. The other thing would be the pace of her arc. She's obviously spent a considerable amount of time with this guy, and feels disgusted with herself for doing it, but almost the entirety of her arc is conveyed in one night, going from disgust but tolerant to realizing she's a prostitute and wanting to kill herself to get away from him in the span of a few hours. There's nothing wrong with the change happening over night. In fact, I would say it's an appropriate pace because it emphasizes her innocence and lack of resolve, but I think it would have made more sense for her to recognize she's a whore fairly early, not after she's been choked and beaten. That, or have this be earlier in their relationship. Maybe I missed something, but it seems like this has been going on for quite a while. I could see Trixie trying to rationalize it at first that she's not REALLY being payed for sex, but that can only go on for so long. From moment to moment in the story, the pace is just fine, but when you take in her backstory and the history of her relationship, it doesn't quite line up.
