there are situations where it makes sense; Like starlights cult for example. If celestia or luna sent Twilight there, then pretty much all suspense would go out the window:
Starlight, at least as presented in the premier before deciding "SHE'S SUPER GOD MODE POWERFUL, REALLY!" was small shit, and if Twilight was locked up in a closet for a week, no problem: celestia or luna comes by and fucks her shit up due to twilight being missing.


The map is a good way to send the mane six into adventures without Celestia or luna knowing anything about it, which helps to avoid plot hole problems of making those 2 indesposed

S6 seems to be inbetween S4 and S5 quality so far, but I think the season overall lacks a purpose.

Back in S4 we knew it would build up to turn Twilight into a proper princess, and S5 was about Starlight and the Friendship table.

So far S6 feels like random episodes grouped together, and while its theme is 'explore Equestria', it still hasn't bothered to give us so many new places to justify it.

Season 6 doesn't seem to have a really clear purpose but a lot of the episodes seem to be advancement of the characters as well as overcome personal faults.

Rarity continues to expand her business.

Dash has become an actual wonderbolt, as well as seeming to learn from them.

Fluttershy has even shown to become more assertive and confident with what we just saw with her brother. She has had plenty of lessons in the past season, but it felt like the lessons didn't really stick and show until this episode.

It really does feel that season 6 is a filler season, but there is also a feeling of growth among all of the mane 6 after the events of the prior season. It feels like season 6 is just cooling off and tying things up or setting other things up for the upcoming season and movie.

Filly is sad with all this pessimism about the new season
