If Queen Chrysalis invaded Earth with her army, would you avoid conflict and run away, rebel against her, or would you join her in her conquest? Think realistically, what would you REALLY do?
>>
>>27497741

>Not bowing to the holiest of holies.

What, are you gay or somethin?
>>
>>27497741
Realistically I doubt I would have to do much of anything, isn't that what our armies are for?
>>
>>27497741
I would breed her and then I would run away because child maintenance
>>
>>27497741
Realistically? Let the army fuck her over. They have heavy machine guns, jets, tanks, missiles, why should I interfere?
>>
>>27497741
If she invaded earth she would be looking for world conquest and if you tried to join her she'd probably kill you on sight unless you have some form of turning into other creatures like the changelings. So the third idea is gone. She could be anyone, it could be me, it could be you it could even be!
Anyone. Point being rebeling against her is too difficult because she could disguise as your best friend and you wouldn't know and you'd think you and your friend are going to go destroy a fort of theirs or something but in reality she backstabs you. So basically all options are invalid.
I rest my case
>>
>>27497757

No, all armies are for show casing needlessly complicated weapons, and and killing children of foreign countries because people who talk funny should be genocided.
>>
>>27497767

Against a stealth army that thrives on shape shifting?
>>
>>27497782
We have literally no idea how their shapeshifting would work here on Earth or if it would work at all. This is as realistic as we can get - sit on our asses and let soldiers do their job.
>>
>>27497792
Why wouldn't shapeshifting work on Earth? There's no reason for it to not work.
>>
>>27497799
Can you explain their shapeshifting with physics? If not, it is not wrong to assume it wouldn't work. There's no magic here on Earth.
>>
>>27497814
>dur i'm absolutely retarded
You have to accept the entire premise in the op. Your blatant HFY retardation is made absolutely clear. If you actually believed what you said you wouldn't be stuck trying to cripple the changelings so they have no advantages but you'd still get the glory of killing/beating them. Changelings with no magic because hurp urth no magics guiz would not be able to exist. there is no love and they probably need magic more than any other race in equestria because they use it to fucking eat and gain power.

>>27497741
Depends on her plans for earth.
what are her goals and motivations?
I would probably advise against it though. no matter how strong she is, Pony magic excels against incursions not when operating them. Basically would seek her out and tell her her plans are going to be far too foolish.
>>
>>27497838
>I can't explain things, so I will use some buzzwords

It was said realistically, maybe I took it too seriously. Assuming the shapeshifting would work and Changelings would be able to do everything they canonnically can, I'd still initially sit on my ass and see what the army would do. Then I'd probably run innawoods and be a goddamn guerilla. There, are you happy now?
>>
>>27497858
>still acting retarded
OP meant realistically as in what would you REALLY do in that situation.
>>
>>27497869
He told you what he would really do. Can you not read or something?
>>
>>27497869

>>
>>27497741
>Think realistically, what would you REALLY do?
Unless I'm (un)lucky, and her invasion force lands directly in my part of my town, there is nothing to do. Most likely, it would just be one more item in the news, next to ISIS, Ukraine, etc.
>>
>>27497799
>Why wouldn't shapeshifting work on Earth? There's no reason for it to not work.
Why can't I travel faster than light? Why can't I divide by zero? Why can't I become a flying space unicorn who shits out candy? Because that not how things works. Their magic would be useless here

Haha, realistically she'd get blown out so incredibly hard that I'd probably barely have a chance to make a choice before it was all over.

But let's assume for a second we become aware that there's risk of a conflict beforehand, so there's time to make a decision before her swarm gets royally assraped. In that case, I choose to join the military and fight her.

If we're talking about the Chrysalis we've actually seen and not poor-misunderstood-waifu-just-wants-to-be-understood Bugqueen, trying to 'join' her is just going to get me mind-controlled and pumped for any valuable information before she tosses me in a pod and the rest of the bugs just suck me dry. Fuck that with a rusty knife; I'll take fighting, thank you.

Best case outcome, I get some fun time in a shed with a captured Changeling.

How come any time their is a human vs magic war thread everyone is extremely zealous towards human technology being infallible?

We get it, you like guns and murder, but whenever some one brings up a point like say, we don't know how their magic works, the immediate response is either, "Well, humans don't have magic, so clearly they can't have any either", you do not know that.

Magic is magic, clearly it is doing something we can't with magic.

"They can't perfectly imitate a human."

When did they ever indicate in the show that they can't?

Your personal headcanon of how magic works does not apply.
>>
>>27498488
Zealots are on both sides, really.

>Your personal headcanon of how magic works does not apply.
And same cold be said about yours. I'm not starting shit now, I just point that two people could argue all day.
>>
>>27498488
Honestly, I was working under the assumption magic would function for the Changelings here. Catch is, there's no indication it would be particularly valuable to the Changelings. They can turn into a pony, which doesn't help them that much. As they are invading Earth alone in OP's situation, there isn't even the risk of innocent ponies being caught in the crossfire. They can do that slime-spit thing, but that's only useful at close range and takes a moment for them to work up, putting them at a disadvantage compared to a firearm-carrying opponent.

Even including the Changeling-resistance AU, there's no indication the Changelings have any kind of ranged method of attack whatsoever. They're entirely melee opponents.

Charging against an enemy armed with automatic (hell, even semiautomatic) weapons is still going to be murderous for the Changelings. They might be able to overwhelm some third-world shitholes by sheer force of numbers, but the casualties are going to be so lopsided it's not even funny. An organized, modernized army is going to be the downright hellish for them to engage.
>>
>>27497741
You didn't specify how big her army would be, so we can make no guess about how to respond. Let's say she's got an army of several times the human population, after all they're bugs. So 100 billion or something, which spread out all over the Earth in less than a day. Now how will you respond? Our atomic bombs and other WMDs are already useless since they're already among our population and have invaded our troops.

Chitin is flexible enough to not be brittle when struck by crushing force, so, thick enough chitin could be bullet proof.
>>
>>27499722
The Zerg also had to be given phlebotinium armor to make them a credible threat. Changelings do not have that - we have a good idea of what is harmful to them (kicks and stone spears).

>And did your forget the changlings can fly, have magic fire, and that meteor attack?
This is a GTK boxer with MANTIS gun system. It is capable of driving at 61MPH / 98 KPH with a range of over 1,000km/621 miles. Armor protection is sufficient to resist heavy machine gun fire, and on the frontal arc is capable of resisting cannon fire up to 23mm. Not shown is an optionally mounted MG3 machine gun.

The NBS MANTIS gun system can loft over 1,000 35mm shells two miles distant every minute. The vehicle can carry up to 2,400 such projectiles before external stowage, and the gun can be reloaded from inside the vehicle. In addition to radar guidance, optical and thermal tracking is available. Shells have a lethal burst radius of around 4.5m, with a considerably larger nonlethal but damaging radius. Note that this is against metal-skinned targets such as artillery shells, not fleshy ones. Also available is the AHEAD munition, which releases 154 Tungsten flechettes into the target's flight path.

Again, actually getting in melee range isn't as simple as it seems.
>>
>>27499918
>>27499769
It also depends on how and with what the chitin is reinforced with. Chitin by itself isn't very strong, but it can be reinforced with fibers as well as mineral deposits which can further increase resistance to pressure.

'Ling chitin is black, so it's possible that it might have carbon or iron in it... but many other things could make it so.
>>
>>27500009

Yes, you cum for gun porn, we get it.

But how would that armor hold up to baelfire enchanted drones that have walked away from craters in stone?
>>
>>27499807
>They can lift things several times heavier than their bodies.

They tiny.

Gravity affects things in geometric progression.

>But how would that armor hold up to baelfire enchanted drones that have walked away from craters in stone?

Probably pretty well. Pavers aren't that hard to crack. Moreover, the Changelings themselves can't actually be that tough if stone spears are considered a valid weapon for threatening a suspected Changeling with.

>baelfire

>>
>>27499722
>That didn't seem to dampen the Zerg's assaults

Yeah, but then again, the Zerg also have massive behemoths that can shrug off tank fire (Ultralisks) and other strains capable of launching spines at unhealthy speeds.
Also billions and billions of expendable zerg.

Changelings can shape shift, which is neat I guess.
>>
>>27500306

Please state your argument.
>>
>>27500009
Before that gun system can turn around a changeling has already flown several times past it.
>>
>>27500488
Because if a few bumfucks in the woods with sharp sticks can hold out for any period of time, they aren't that dangerous.

Because if they can be beaten down by a few mentally unstable mares, they aren't much of a threat. And that's with the advantage of shape shifting.

If Twilight can hit them with some stun magic at like 300fps and ~250rpm, then any battle-bubba should have no problem.

Okay.

What you're doing is asking "what are you going to do if fucking teletubbies or I dunno, neanderthals conquered Earth?" and then cried HFY when the answer is a resounding "no they wouldn't".

Changelings are not Zerg. They don't have the numbers, the biotech, the powers, the hulking bionic war machines, the hydraulic spine weapons that can penetrate human armor, of the Zerg (even if the Zerg are meh as a credible threat in the first place). From what we've seen, changelings are just big bugs who are vulnerable to spears and being punched in the face by Rarity. Nothing that could remotely stand up to our military technology.

Magic you say? Well, really the only relevant magical ability the changelings have is shapeshifting, but the infiltration scenario isn't credible either. What are they going to do? Turn into Obama or Putin and demand the nuke codes? Turn into generals to give troops misleading orders? We have checks, balances and documentation that make this shit very unlikely to succeed - our society is a fair bit more complicated than "four princesses just run everything lol, crash a wedding and you win".

The HFY genre can be retarded, but that doesn't mean that humanity can't fight its way out of a fucking wet paper bag, a legitimate non-threat.

Not to mention that even if it didn't, it's range is probably far enough to the point where angular speed is not as much of a factor as up-close.
