My Little Pony Tales, though it was still Gen 1, was quite different from My Little Pony 'n Friends, and for that matter from the other generations as well. It was kind of like a shallower, more mean-spirited Equestria Girls set in the late 80s/early 90s, except instead of humans they stay ponies (though everything around them is human stuff). The ponies pretty much walk and gesture like humans too.
