if you have the patience and are willing to make a plush or two before attempting in making your waifu/fave pony, you can make one yourself
the hardest part is going to be the applique eyes and CMs

Plush thread I need your help with a rather personal matter. Today (the 21st) is my birthday, my 21st in fact. I've never had alcohol, and my plan was just to go over to the gas station near campus, come home, and drink it while playing vidya and cuddling pic related.

The thing is, I've gotten so many different reccomendations and invites from friends (no, I don't want to spend my Thursday night at a bar when I have to give a presentation Friday morning) that I'm really not sure what to get. My friends reccomend either Bud Light or Everclear, my mother reccomends white zinfandel, and my dad and grandfather reccomend old man scotch.

So, can you all reccomend something, keeping in mind I've never ever had alcohol? Something that will make me warm and fuzzy and snuggle to sleep with my plush...but not puke all over my apartment?

Honestly, if you've never had alcohol, then you're gonna be a massive lightweight and HATE the flavour. (Which is completely fine, everyone starts off that way, and if anyone tries to give you shit for it then they're an asshole.)

So I say start with vodka cruisers. Don't give a shit what people say about them, they taste half-decent for someone who has little experience in drinking because they're so similar to soft drinks - but they've still got a decent punch to them (4.6%), AND they're quite affordable. Even cider, which is sweet by any regular drinker's standards (even "dry" cider) will probably taste like ass for the moment. Once you've drunk them a few times on different occassions and you're starting to get used to the taste and feel of alcohol, build up to Smirnoff double blacks and your own mixed drinks (I personally fell in love with scotch and Coke in my early drinking days, but Midori and lemonade is nice too. Way too sweet for me now, though).

I've been putting money away(about $20 a week) for a while now to buy a nice plush. Con tickets are bought, hotel room paid for, heck I even have gas money set aside. Downside is that I basically scaled down all my other spending, not buying vidya on release day, walking to class instead of driving, cooking my own meals instead of eating out. Here's something I recommend if you're feeling a little investigative. Closer to the con, the website will update the vendor hall with who will be selling what, where. I suggest that you scroll through the list and as it'd list people's accounts and such, you can probably find which plushmakers will sell what you're looking for, and might even have pictures posted of what they're going to sell.

Pretty much up to where I am for the summer. My school requires two co-ops (much like internships, no idea what the difference is) before graduating, and while I'm talking to a few companies, I've had the rug pulled out from under me last year when the company I was discussing pay rates with suddenly said, "Sorry, we need to do some restructuring" two weeks before I was supposed to start.

If I don't get one, I have the option of working in the Housing office at my school for the summer (free housing, plus a 8-5 Job 5 days a week for 9 bucks an hour) bringing in 360-405 dollars a week before taxes (having 8 weeks to get dosh together before the con). In addition to the money I have squirreled away now, I'll have quite a bit of dosh for the con (and weekends off).

If I was working at my school (In Rochester), I'd have to figure out:

Taxi to transportation (a 25 dollar flat rate in my area to train station, airport, or bus station)

Transportation to the event (A bus ticket wold be anywhere from 60-90 dollars...but do I really want that? Perhaps a train ticket. Would prefer not to drive 6 hours).

Ticket for event(3 day pass, 70 bucks)

Hotel (Anywhere from 140-190 per night, I'd prefer to have an actual spot in a room, not "Hey, you seem like a cool dude, you just gotta pay us 50 bucks to sleep in our room" sketchyness where they could kick me out at any moment).

Food (Figure I could work that out to 25 bucks a day if I eat outside the convention space, less if I just bought cups of ramen)

Transportation home, then from the train/bus/airport (same fees as before)

Wiggle room (A good $200 should be good for any emergency purchases specifically related to this event, then I have my ACTUAL emergency fund (around 1k), for use in any situation. And by emergencies, I don't mean "holy shit I need that plush" I mean "Hey, all the trains leaving Baltimore derailed and I need a plane ticket")

Anything I seemed to have missed? This is all before buying merch.
