"The usual" she sings, pressing herself against the counter and leaning forward, looking perky and blocking as much of the transaction as possible.

Two customers finishing up enjoying an alternatively sweetened milkshake prevent Pogo's usual 'I wish you wouldn't' or 'this is wrong' pleas, he quietly hands her the small box and pretends to ring it up while dropping the bits in his apron pocket.

Playfully dunking her small sugarfree fudge box full of Pinkie's diabetic needles in her pack she cheerfully thanks her 'friend' and slinks over to the table the other two ponies were just leaving, snatching the spoon from their glass before someone came by to clean up. Halfway out the door she waves 'bye', he says "see you tomorrow" as a slight prayer.

Hope skips through town, her next fix so close she could taste it, looking as cheery as could be despite the pale skin and baggy eyes. The boutique was next, and she wipes her hooves with vigor before calmly walking in.

"Hey-" she waves at Ms Rarity, "is Garnet in? I'm looking for another one of his kits."

"Of course darling, let me just fetch him for you-" she says with her sweet voice, although instead of actually going anywhere she just turns her head and shouts "GARNET". Hooves clatter on stairs as he storms halfway down the stairs dramatically

"Yes, mother! What is- ah Hope, yes let me get your personalized package-" he mumbles something along the lines of "for your needs", uninterested in finishing his own tagline.

Hope endures a few minutes of Rarity prattling on about how proud she is of his son and his burgeoning 'skin care' business before Garnet comes back down, tiny little package with a purple bow in his hand. He takes his payment first before releasing it to her, Hope smiling through grit teeth and thanking them both before leaving.

Next stop was the former clubhouse, contemporary Scoot's party shack. It was not being used as such at the moment, so Hope was by herself and threw her butt into a grungy beanbag chair. Unceremoniously dumping her bag on the floor and kicking her outstretched legs on the floor like a kid she gets to work.

Hope undoes the ribbon on the bag and loosely ties it on her arm for use in a few minutes. She leans over and snags one of the many lighters laying around the clubhouse, testing it with a few sparks. Carefully she sets the spoon down, grabs one of her needles and tosses the rest of the box aside for later. Inside Garnets package is a small brown baggie, and actually also some concealer, the cheeky cunt.

A delicious smell fills the room as she cooks up the espresso shot and injects it, the unbridled ecstacy justifying her entire life up until that very moment.


The sun wakes her up the next nothing, pounding head, dry mouth, vomit on her cheek and hair, the furniture in worse disarray. She already knew the only think that would fix the awful feeling in her stomach and the general problem of being alive was another doubleshot, and she was going to have to make some money first.

I was the one who wrote that story and basically it was like this.

After that I kind of hit a road block in finishing it. But neither of them were romantically interested in him. At least Lyra. She only sees him as a means to an end for her future satyr kids. It was never about being butt blasted about different head canons. I really like all the variation we have here. I just try to have more creative backstory for the reason why a satyr is born. I love me a good harem story tho

And what I meant is there are several paths for the divergence between the two.
It could be tied to the gender of the parents as you said (bull father = Mino, human father = Hols), or the gender of the offspring (males are minos, females are hols). It could simply be random chance. It could be Hols are first generation, and minos are a result of occasional dips back into the bovine half of their gene pool.
And it could be a mix or something else, since the parents gender part is moot once you've got mino/hols breeding with their own species.
