It's 2016 and I still can't get Winter Wrap-Up out of my head. I didn't like This Day Aria that much but I may also be seeing WWU through a nostalgia lens. Either way, I still see it as MLP's best song.

Winter Wrap Up and This Day Aria are still the best. Season 4 onwards had some awfully unmemorable songs, not counting the movies. Off the top of my head I can remember Bats!, the Pinkie Pride and The Mane Attraction songs...and that's about it? They really dropped the ball with both quality and quantity in this regard.

This may be nostalgia tinted goggles, but do the lyrics suck these days?

The music is as slick and well made as ever, but the lyrics are now clunky and forced into their completely random rhyming scheme, with awkwardly worded phrases.

Rainbow Rocks is the only good thing to come out of the past 3-4 years of the show. If EqG hadn't had been a thing and the movie was set in Equestria, it would have been fucking awesome.
