I really like how this is turning about, i feel as if spike is now starting to become starlights "apprentice" it's really suiting, not yet for a ship, but i have a feeling there will be an episode where Twilight will get jealous of glimmer taking spike for a while, this is just theorizing though.
I don't really ship them, but this is a great combo, it's sweet and innocent. spike is a real bro. Glimmer is being real chill and cool.

It makes sense. Starlight isn't used to Spike like the others are. As far as she can tell he's equal to a pony, while all the other ponies just treat him as Twilight's slave/pet. Starlight sees herself as below the rest due to her past like Spike sees himself as lower due to his species. They would make great kindred spirits. At a minimum they should be close friends.
