What gave you the idea I'm a "shitposter". I do hold "controversial" views in a largely juvenile and contrarian board but that hardly constitutes as a "shitpost". It's healthy to have opposing views.
As for the OP I'm glad to see young men take interest in the sartorial arts. While most of the boys here might want the young man to persuade him to make plush toys I think it would be more beneficial for him to persuade a serious sartorial trade. Not only would he gain even more knowledge than just sewing but also othrt skills. Picture is a personal pattern mu tailor drafted for me. It took him two hours and to me it seems complicated. A personal pattern ensures the most flexibility when it comes to cutting a garment and adjusting it for an optimal fit, especially for those that have physical abnormalities.
The jacket I posted costed about 1.3k dollars and a pair of pants bumped the cost to about 1600$. It's about a month of labor but that's with him having other projects with clients.
So it is a serious trade and one that's in decline thanks to the casualization of society, but one that is still valued
