Friends Forever #23 (Fluttershy and Applejack) and the Holiday Special are due out tomorrow (Dec. 2); they should be digitally released in a couple of hours!
It's (probably) not a danger any longer, but what might have come to pass had any of the altered timelines' inhabitants used the time travel spell? Could it have been jump-started without the modifications Starlight Glimmer made to Star Swirl's spell? Seemingly the only magically charged pony interested in the prospect was Nightmare Moon herself - could she have effected changes she desired? Who can say what kinds of ripples that might produce, or what would become of Twilight Sparkle and Spike in such an event.
Regardless, it's not a field the princess of friendship should be eager to dally in. However, perhaps she should take a greater interest in the mechanics of the map at large - it's some rather potent power, and she should take care not to be blindsided by its potential again, if she can help it.

I think he's using C as a basis for this.
He's typecasting the colt that's an instance of Colt into a Filly; (Filly)colt.
But then he's doing something with filly. I assume it's some kind of construction function for instantiating fillies; but it takes a Filly parameter.
I think the filly method is taking a pointer to colt that's being cast to Filly so that it's setup properly; filly() might be assuming the pointer is NULL or have a way to handle if it's an instantiated filly; it's hard to say without seeing the method filly.
Either way, he's created a colt and seems to intend on either turning it into a filly or at least using it like a filly. The absolute mad man.

It fragments at the very end, true "power of friendship" plots are hard to pull off because it's unrealistic to go from "I hate you because you represent everything I want to be" to "let's be friends" that fast.
That being said, Starlight was otherwise fantastic because she was a villain who was a regular pony for once, who was really smart and cunning to the point that Twilight couldn't deal with her head on.

It's not like we'd actually know anything about alternate time lines, it might as well be that there can only ever be one and if anything gets changed in the past the current one is overwritten.Which would also mean that their universe is somewhat deterministic though since when Starlight didn't interfere with it anymore, everything happened exactly the same way again and they got their original time line back.

Our Village was kind of isolated so for the less disastrous futures, she probably staid there.
In the other I assume she died. She was way too powerful to not have an effect on those conflicts, so her not being present probably meant that she simply didn't exist anymore.

She didn't realize she was fucking over the world by removing the main heroes, which makes sense when you think about it.
How was Starlight, a pony who lived in a tiny cult village, able to realize that the new ponies in her village were the A-team of the world.
Her revenge made sense, but the consequences were beyond her intentions. She only wanted to ruin a friendship, not the world. She probably expected preventing the sonic rainboom would just give her the village back.

Did she? I haven't rewatched the episodes yet, but the way I understood it was that she manipulated the spell in such a way that whenever Twilight went back, it would also pull Glimmer back to the same time to avoid Twilight from simply skipping back a bit further than her and lay a trap.

It did sound like that was how the spell worked, but Sunset never seemed to notice how the present changed like Twilight did.
It took Twilight yanking Sunset to the present to show her the doomed timeline.
And the fact that she didn'tbelive what she saw shows that she either never went back with Twilight in any of those time portals.
Or worse, she didn't care.
But we later learn she doesn't believe what she saw, so she was never shown the consequences of her actions.
