thanks, she was my first pink plush ever, and I got her for 70ish bucks on ebay, I was so lucky. She's almost 3 years old now and she's a little worse for wear, so I retired her from the pank cuddle rotation. I loved her to bits and I will never forget her. she really is a one of a kind partner

Amazing Anon, absolutely amazing.

There are two ways I normally sleep with her, one, where she's lying on on top of me so we're face to face. She's 45-47 inches long, so her legs reach down to my knees. Her nose is often touching mine, so it's a nice 'boop.'

The other way I cuddle with her is with her next to me on her belly, with me on my side with my arms going above and below her, pulling her close.

I've even started sleeping better because of her. Growing up, I always slept with some sort of stuffed animal, but being six feet tall, that's kind of a challenge. With something to latch on to, I don't roll around as much in bed.

The downside of this all is that I look at most other plushies and go, "Eh. She's not big enough."

Me too. That first "plush rush" was unlike any other. My first plushie was $73 on ebay and is one of a kind and I feel lucky to have her. I have since gotten bigger and more prestigious plushies, but she is irreplaceable and is very special.

Well I did wanna elaborate on my first experience with my first ponki girl, so I will anyway

When I first got her, I already waifu'd pinkie really hard for a year and the this plush from ebay really sealed the deal. It's been three years and there is no way I'll ever not love pinkie pie anymore.
So anyway I was an in the closet ponyfag so I was watching the front door like a hawk so my parents wouldn't find out. I was able to get her from the front door to my room with out anyone seeing me(being an only child is the best) I open her up and I see pic related and she was the most beautiful pony I've ever seen. I immediately went in for the hug. It felt soo good to finally be with the one I loved the most. Her tail is actually really stuffed so it just adds to her overall cuddability. I just hugged her and hugged her nonstop until I took the time to notice that I had a boner. I paused to look her in the eyes. There was only me and her in that moment. I would have called it love at first sight if I wasn't in love already with a bright pink mare. I took off my shirt to feel her against skin and my pants to take care of business. I then cradled her in my arms and went in for the kiss. Her plushie lips, defined by only a few threads drawn across where her mouth should be, still felt like the sweetest bud. Then I jacked it, but I won't get any more detailed than to say it felt amazing to snuggle and kiss my pinkie while taking care of my boner for the first time(and honestly my first time with her is just a blur, for the best reasons). It just felt so right to share such an intimate moment with my pinkie girl. I will never look back on me and my pinkie with shame. I just love her too much.
And that's how I became a plushiesexual

those cardboard tubes are part of the reason she gives so much feedback to her hugs though, from the back and the front. when face to face, she feels like she hugs back. Using this side by side comparison, I really have say that qtpony has really improved since his did this twi. The snout is smaller, cuter and has a more defined shape on my penk and really fits the rest of face better. The front legs really do look more show like on pinks.
And pinkie's rump is a bit more plump, I love it!
I really do feel like I'm getting his best work yet!
the ears aren't too big on either pony but I can't really tell which I prefer until I can see them both together from the front

I hate ladder stitching. I have a quilt my great grandmother made that can only be fixed by ladder stitching and it takes FOREVER. I won't be able to repair Octi. Repairing the spine required doubling up the thread because it kept snapping and I dread to do that again. There was so much tension on that seam that I was using my entire arm to hold the fabric together and the other hand to stitch.. Pic related is how badly it turned out. Also why I'd like to make a dress; to cover that shit up.

uhh, well in my case I blame the guy making my pinkie pie, qtpony. I had ordered some cheaper minky to practice on a smaller pink before making myself a life size one, but then I chickened out when it came to appliqueing the eyes and cutie mark, so I saved up my pennies for someone else to make instead of spending money on more materials. All my applique looks fairly bad since I don't spend enough time finding the right colors and my sewing machine is finicky. I've considered buying someone else's embroidery eyes to stitch on. Going to go insane waiting for mine considering how far out I am on the list...

Too many other things to work on lately but did finally get out of test sewing. Came out better than the test piece since I used pins and little clips to help hold position this time thanks to seeing how you guys do it and watching a friend work. Also made much smaller stitches which did add to the time but didn't bunch the fabric up. Slicker brush again to pull any fibers caught in the seams out.

In process pics that people post here are also invaluable. Seeing how differently people pattern out and the results is really cool.

So.. I made the commitment and bought the fabric for a Dashie. I went way overboard on fabric amount for the mane; buying a yard for each color.. Also accidentally bought two 1-yard in yellow so I hope customer service can fix that before it ships. It just had to be Thanksgiving.

Well I used the wrong thread in the first place. Cotton would've been significantly less likely to break. Upholstery sounds like a good idea if not overkill. I'll look into it when I go to buy thread. Thanks.

Upholstery is probably overkill except for some of the ladder stitching.

If you have the same machine you had several months ago, use the stitch that has looks like the straight stitch symbol but with 2 other lines of stitches next to it. You just need a good cotton or polyester thread. Don't use upholstery thread with that stitch as the minky will break before the stitch does, wrecking any chances of fixing it.


Also a hint is to use a seam allowance on your pieces. Draw and cut exactly 1/4 inch around the sewing line. Really helps with aligning the pieces getting sewing the seams straight.

1 yard for each color of the mane isn't really overkill, you're going to need a lot if you want the nap to be in the right direction for every stripe. Hell, if it's a big enough pony 1 yard might not even be enough.

I mark off my patterns every inch or so and line up the hash marks when I'm pinning. It works for the most part. I have no idea what that ||| stitch does compared to a straight stitch. I'll look it up and figure out how to use it.

A seam allowance really makes pinning and sewing a lot easier though. The tick marks are fine, but it will be a lot less hassle with the seam allowance if you want even seams.

The III (triple stretch) stitch has a back stitch built in, so in the event that it does have a stitch fail, the entire seam doesn't fail, only a single stitch does. Also allows for some stretch instead of just snapping. Quite strong vs a standard straight stitch.
