The art really was just atrocious and took away from most of whatever message this was supposed to have, but at the same time it shitted up the potential for a decent story with Luna outright saying "you do think of me as an equal, as evidenced by a cake". I mean, seriously? Fucking seriously? It acts like Luna and Celestia never speak to each-other or something and Pinkie practically plays no role. Celestia could have done the exact same thing while bearing over a castle chef, and the lesson Pinkie learned is... nothing?

I'll give it a 5/10.

The setting and story was a nice touch, as it shows more sisterly bonds that's four years late and such. She and Pinkie's scenes were nicely done, and the one pagers and spreadpagers were one of the better looking parts of the comic.

The bad bits was that the comic was a bit boring, both in dialogue and in length. Normally I have nothing bad to feel for Fogsitt's art since I'm probably one of the few who doesn't mind it at all, but in a lot of the panels, the art was all over the place, mostly noticable in the hind legs, head size and >>25325296, >>25325278 and >>25325159. The art is cheery, but I can see why it would turn some people off especially when viewed zoomed in. This >>25325749 though is unacceptable and just really lazy. I mean really, a copy paste for a small butt mark? Really?

Also adding, the look of the last cake was extremely underwhelming. Yes, I expected something simple, but I didn't expect it to be THAT boring.

The idea was ok, and the reasoning of the characters is good. But the dialogue is terrible written and dumb down many things. The art while cute, here and there, it's terrible in big doses with many stupid and weird anatomy here and there. Plus the Photoshop pasting of the cutie marks and if you include the stolen whisk clipart, shows how much that artist cares. IDW should fire that guy, or give him only cover art duties, and only on those weird variants.

I think it's a bit autistic to constantly bitch about "too much human poses" in a cartoon, and that very well translates to comics here. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the anatomy in this comic was completely fucked but not because it was "too human"; moreso that certain actions did not translate well and made limbs look awkward.

Further more, holy fucking shit the immediate knee-jerk reaction toward a clipart cutiemark. Seriously? I laughed at that, because I took into consideration that just maybe it was intended as a gag. But in the interest of fairness, yeah sure it would help if somebody tweeted them to find out what the deal was.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10. Comfy and safe story bogged down by questionable art design choices.

I think people are overreacting on this one. Tiberius being acknowledged doesn't give a stamp of approval or canonicity on Cook's work.
Look at S5. Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep was a directa daption of the premise of the Nightmarity arc, but it was markedly different.

The show (and novels) can simply take some of the comic's good stuff (Tiberius in itself wasn't actually offensive in any way) and appropriate it, while discarding the rest.

The art has the potential to be cute, but the way Fosgitt stylizes them makes them look too much like pigs and Celestia looks like a swan in some frames.
