It loses it it's own movie though, so it's not even the strongest "mech" in it's own series. It gets trashed by one attack and regular Gurren Lagaan has to get the kill. STTGL is just a big mass of spiral energy that can barely even hold itself together. TTGL at least put up a fight before it got shit on, STTGL just sucks.
