Why are the Zeta movies so terrible? I mean, the original series

Use of old footage sucks, source material is flawed and doesn't condense well, the second movie takes the most interesting segment of the show and somehow turns it into the worst movie, etc.

I dunno, Zeta is just so fucked. I would like a new 50 episode remake that cuts out half of the meaningless fights, cuts Katz AND Beltorchika, rewrites all of the vague cryptic dialogue from Char and other characters into something more engaging, condenses the original story down to ~40 episodes and adds a real conclusion to Char and Amuro's stories that serves as a plausible bridge to CCA.
